Hi all i am new to this fourms i might aswell ask away about upgrading to a newer socket like intel alder lake or faster gpu, and other things you all could recommend to help spice up my build, any idea's i would greatly apprecate the help

with your system spec, i'd upgrade the gpu before upgrading the cpu/mobo and ram...
maybe a 3060ti or 3070, 6700xt for amd should give you a nice boost

I second that, i am on the fence with the rtx 3070 or rx 6700 xt but hear there to bloody expense in Canada

prices should be coming down more as they dropped quite a bit depending on the model some of them are not far from the msrp..
if you can wait for team amd 6750xt is just around the corner you could go for that ...

According the ASUS screen specifications, you are good to go for as long this is alive.

Not sure what you mean by that lol

Check newegg.ca there was a 3070ti for under $900 the other day and a bunch of the lower end cards have come down some there too.

Even still $750 cdn on avg for a rtx 3060 ti is way to high

There's nothing wrong with your build, like said, upgrade your GPU if you want more horsepower in games, but it's a fine setup otherwise.

GPU upgrade, especially since you also have a 1440p monitor (i'm assuming with the RX 580 your mostly playing on the 1080p monitor you have).

Wouldn't even bother with a CPU upgrade. If you exclude esports titles (which are easy to run) then most benchmarks have the 10400F within like 5-7% of the 12400/5600x at 1440p resolution and like fringe 10% at 1080p.

EDIT: read your monitor incorrectly, there both 1080p. In that case new GPU + 1440p or if you like your monitor but want higher FPS/settings then you don't have to go super highend on the GPU to get a huge uplift (6600/3060 would be huge upgrades over a RX 580)

Id look into a new display with higher res 4k, same refresh rate then not long after ...

Depends on which games. If not so demanding an somewhat older titles. 3060 or 6600xt.

If you wish to wait til the end of this year. see what comes out, newer gen is coming soon.

since you also have a 1440p monitor
Where is that spec at?>

Unfortunately Both are 1080p panels144hz and The msi G24C4 monitori just purchased 2 weeks ago that has freesync premium which iam not sure if freesync is set right need to learn that, but yea i would like to get a 1440p display in the near future after a gpu upgrade

You're lucky that the GPU prices are finally dropping.

I play mostly cod warzone/ pubg/ fornite, and the 3060 or 6600xt i consider those a side grade not worth the jump, i think you're right and just wait it out long as ii can tell new cards come out and prices drop even more

I see. No offense shouldve let us help you shop. Either way, I stand by what i said, if you need cheaper I say go with 3060. If you want to IMO, overkill spec, 3070/6700xt.

From my own experience, I went from 580 4Gb + 1080p monitor > 2060 KO Ultra + 1440p monitor halfway through my time with it > 3070Ti ftw3. Hope this info helps.

Just about doubling average FPS at 1080 and 1440 is a 'side grade'? Ok....

There's really no reason to be unfortunate. Resolution helps but it's also just a preference if anything.

1080p with very high settings and good FPS is perfectly fine and enjoyable

Explain to me how those are side grades ?

Both of those cards are almost 2x the performance as the RX 580 and both use signficantly less power.

2x the performance is gigtantic, nothing side grade about it

No serious i aprecate the help man, but i will consider the 3060 or 6600xt if they drop to 300 cdn

I understand there a lot faster over my 580, but i look at the 3060 and the 6600xt as mid range card but yet they jack up the prices on these cards, and besides i will feel bad about myself buying a midrange card and feeling ripped off and disappointed

That might happen sometime after the nvidia 6k series cards drop but since Trudope printed a bunch of extra cash to help with the covid nonsense inflation is going to make that $750 price tag look like a half price sale in a few months.

Of course I could be wrong and prices could drop to pre covid levels but the odds of that happening are staggering, manufacturers figured out they can scalp their own hardware and aren't likely to let go of their free cash cows any time soon.

Hate to burst your bubble but I really doubt they ever go for anywhere close to 300 cdn.

Thirdy party midrange cards the last few gens have been like $350-425 USD which is like $450-525 cdn.

Even pre covid the 2060 super for example was trending $530-580 CDN https://www.nowinstock.net/ca/computers/videocards/nvidia/rtx2060super/full_history.php
