I have found something about that. As you know every Elder Scrolls game timeline is very close. For example;

The Elder Scrolls: Arena - The time period is 3E 389-3E 399, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall - The time period is 3E 405, The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard - The time period is 2E 864, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - The time period is 3E 427, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - The time period is 3E 433, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The time period is 4E 201, The Elder Scrolls Online - The time period is 2E 582.

Thanks to Isriana's art from DeviantArt that shows us time periods between games are very close. Except, The Elder Scrolls Online.

If anyone already have shared same thing, sorry for repost. :)

So, it seems like Elder Scrolls Lore is finished with Skyrim, cause its last era in the lore. But my thoughts are next Elder Scrolls game can based before times, and this is 4E 171. The Great War, in the lore, begins in this date.

The Great War begins with armies from the Aldmeri Dominion invading the Imperial provinces of Hammerfell and Cyrodiil.

This war was very desctructive. I think, this should be the next Elder Scrolls game. As I said, and as you see, time periods between games are very close.

Bethesda just spent 6 years making TEO and another 4 years making Fallout. I hope Bethesda gets to make a new IP. I don't know what Todd Howard's contract status is but he has to be getting tired making these games.

In my opinion, the time they spend The Elder Scrolls Online, they were a new Elder Scrolls game to spend it would be better.

IMO, they never should have made TES:O. A TES with some 2-4 player co-op would be nice.

I want a cyberpunk FPS RPG like Syndicate or Deus Ex set in the future with people walking the streets and cars you can jack

or something set in space like First Person Mass Effect.

There aren't many provinces left in Tamriel to make a game off :P

Well, we still have a viable plot of the Accession War, which would bring us to Morrowind and Black Marsh.
Bethesda seem to either skip or vaguely mention this period in books, while it was a very important part of Tamriel history.

Either that, or something even earlier... like Dwemer period right before The Battle of Red Mountain?

So many things that already happened or already known could be subject for the next game:
- Third empire has no emperor and could lead to violent succession almost like civil war in Skyrim.
- Aldmeri dominion is still untouched, I want to see their next 'adventure' through their point of view. So maybe Sommerset isle based game.
- Beside aldmeri dominion (sommerset, valenwood, elsweyr) and third empire (high rock, cyrodiil, morrowind), the others are 'free' to invade each other.
- Argonian vs Dunmer things. Either Argonian invasion or about flying city of Umbriel (which sounds like superweapon)
- Next continent, especially Akavir with their 4 distinct races. We may learn what has become of Nerevarine. Lost continent of Yokuda maybe?
- Simply fresh new landscape and lore to make it different to dullness of Skyrim. So maybe Valenwood based or Pyandonea continent maybe.
- Void years never explained.
- Usual stuff of Daedra invasion.
- Minor things that unlikely become main topic: Alduin was banished not dead, Underking, or another Numidium.

Todd Howard should get tired of making anything and get employed as a McDonalds burger flipper. That's about as far as his talent can take him.

Definitely don't wanna go back to Skyrim. It was not bad, but out of all TES games it was the most beautiful and the most boring at the same time... Almost like Oblivion before Shivering Isles came out.
Simplified perk-based character development is lame as its monotonous landscapes and inhabitants.

I want something like TES3:Morrowind with the old and overcomplicated (but still my favorite) character development system, levitation, spell crafting, and artifacts that are actually rare, hard to obtain and make difference comparing to what you can craft or buy at the grocery store. Doubt it will happen in this decade, though... Unless they sell TES rights to some young creative studio with lots of money and ambition.

Decently modded Skyrim is the shit :)

Personally, I'd like to see a heavy civil war ridden Elder scrolls game with a realistic character instead of some dude/chick with hidden powers. I want my character to work up from ranks in a faction s/he aligns itself to. And then lead the faction to glory or fall. And then instead of ending the game when the guy becomes king. Continue on with politics and balancing acts between factions. Eventually leading to another civil war. At this point, you'd play as a defending king.

All the drama would be lovely. Doubt they got the guts to program such a grand scale game tho.

I disagree.

I won't call the character development system on Morrowind and Oblivion complex. It's more annoyance, tedious and not very rewarding.

You could make the efficient levelling very easy at the cost of more tedious (it's already tedious). Pick every single skill you won't need as major skills, better if it's representing every attributes.
That way you could pick when, where, and what to level up. Of course you want it when 3 of your multiplier attributes are at the highest.
It's easier in Morrowind due to it has more skills to spread.

But efficient levelling surely is rewarding right? 100 to all attributes (minus luck) and all.
I don't feel so. Past a certain level in Morrowind (teen level or early 20), efficient levelling or not, you'll already pretty strong to tackle everything in the game. Against Vivec, you may need better equipments but very doable with hit and run since his magic hit hard.
After you maximize offensive skills (naturally), you actually growing weaker relative to the world for each subsequent level up. The biggest offender is the werewolves at the end of Blood Moon main quest.

In Oblivion it's worse. A level 10 character without efficient levelling could be more enjoyable to play than level 30 character with 100 to almost all attributes.
Fight is getting longer due to many monster health tied to your level and your weapon, summon, and magic can only do fixed damage.
You'll also have hard time with escort type quest to make everyone alive since NPC isn't scaled appropriately (such as at the end of main quest line). And that mirror match in Shivering Isle of course getting harder.

So, I prefer Skyrim easier but more fun system rather than Morrowind/Oblivion system.
Even better, Fallout perk system. Your character development revolved around perks and you can level up however you like.

May I ask for example?

As far as I remember, all non-mainquest daedric artifacts and uniques aren't that difficult to obtain in all three games and can't be bought at store or crafted.
The exception I could remember:
- Those end game shield in the Morrowind. It has no quest leading to it.
- Eltonbrand in Morrowind. It's kinda easter egg though.
- Ayleid Crown in Oblivion, you need to explore about 12 ayleid ruins.
- Mehrune Razor in Oblivion needs long winding quest. But it's a full DLC by itself.
- Aetherium artifacts in Skyrim

Bethesda didnt make TEO. They published it, Zenimax developed it.

That is so much better than Skyrim perk trees. What I did not like is that in Skyrim you basically max out all branches for used and slightly used skills and you're done. Resetting skills never made sense to me.

If they use a Fallout-like perk system and implement new crafting, like in FO4, I'll be the happiest guy in the world. Will probably quit my job and break up with my girlfriend for a few months to enjoy the game to its fullest=)

It would be cool to see the game going towards technological advancement where technology is starting up but it will still keep the high fantasy elements.

That's where someone should revive Arcanum, as Bethesda did with Fallout series. My favorite steampunk RPG.

How about Dishonored?

I'd love it if Bethesda could get the TERMINATOR license again. Of course use the cobbled together engine used for FALLOUT 4 and have a 64-bit executable for the game. Because of THE TERMINATOR (1990) which I'm hoping GOG will have including Future War, and also the awesome Terminator mod for FALLOUT 3.

Who reads thread titles these days, eh?

I take it not like the original Syndicate which was much better than the newer one which they made a balls up on.

I think the next Elder Scrolls game is going to suck ass.

I enjoyed both games. I like Starbreeze studios. i'm a fan of Riddick and The Darkness.
