I used it to play with my buddy over the internet, but games thought it was LAN. so its like hamachi, but with added capabilities of presentations or remote control.
I was getting same ping just like in hamachi. so, I find it to be better than hamachi overall

You can always use the inbuilt Windows remote assistance....if it decides to work for you.
