What's better?

I have these cards at my disposal and not looking to buy any other faster card at this time. What I have is a HD 4870 Dark Knight and 2x Hd 3650's. My Question would be, whats better the single 4870 or the 2 3650's in cross fire?

Me personally I would go with the 4870. The 3xxx series was never that great(they were just a refresh of the 2xxx series), They would be power hungry, hot and "fighting" with them in Crossfire to me wouldn't be worth the hassle for the performance considering they are only 3650's(mid range cards)

4870 has 800 shaders, while a 3650 has 120, so in crossfire thats only 240. Hands down the 4870.

The single 4870.

Crossfire was...interesting...before the 4xxx series. On top of the possible performance decrease, you're looking at drivers that are currently old and a complete lack of support. The 4870 isn't likely to get a driver update, but it is definitely a better choice than two 3650s.

4870 hands down. At that point crossfire scaling wasn't very good. Also the 4870 supports double-precision floating point calculations which will benefit in many GPGPU applications. Additionally, even if the 3650 did scale perfectly, I still don't think it would out-perform a a single 4870.
