I have horrible ambients, a freezer 7 pro and pentium d, soon to be q6600. I need a cooler, what goes?

ugh, i had an arctic freezer 7 pro as well. that thing sucked. i actually destroyed it when i went to put it back into a new motherboard. POS!

mine was quite up to about 60% and then it sounded like a jet engine. of course for it to actually keep the cpu cool it had to be at 80%

Really? Everest read about 25C on both cores when idle, and it's silent as a whisper..

yeah me to, cpu temp is 25-26 when I'm using firefox ( with 50 tabs he he) and msn, and the fan is only at 700-800 rpm, I can't hear in comparison to my case fans.

( Infact its still damn quiet even when running prime 95 cpu temp of 35 cores @49c)

Maybe yours was damaged somehow?

hey,

try undervolting your GPU to around the 1.1~ mark. I've attached a pic to show my temps.

Granted ambient is a lot lower and also running at complete idle.

Also what are your temps are idle? You say your folding so i assume those are all at load?
