What's the most interesting Ryzen 7000 CPU?

I voted for 7950x... just built it tonight. Was excited when it completed a cycle of CB R23 with curve optimizer all core -30, but then it crashed shortly after. Had to bring it up to -15. I'm hating the reboot time. It takes around 15 sec for POST if not using XMP. When XMP is on it takes 45 sec just for POST. I'm 30min stable in cinebench now but haven't had time to run prime 95 longer than 15min. Stable CB score is over 39k.

Even though I would need to build a whole new system - my current one's top choice would be the 5800X3D, but without all the bells and whistles (X370) - I would say is the 7700X. But because I did buy the 1700 on launch and since then, I've seen the x7xxX models to reach the best bang4buck after a few months on the stores, with post-launch prices. Sure the x8xx and x9xx then took performance crowns, but for the average usage, even right now I have more issues on the GPU side of things than on getting the 1700 stressed.

Are you using "basic" DDR5 RAM or the new ones with AMD's "EXPO" profiles? Would be interesting to see if there is a difference in boot times.

I voted for the 7700x. The prices are suposed to be high in the begining of a new platform to offset the cost of production. If I was going to build a pc today would go for the 5800x3D for 1080p and anything below that for 4k since 4k does not need a great deal of cpu.

Yep, that's a kit without a EXPO profile. Let's wait & see, maybe some BIOS updates will bring the boot times a bit down.

Yes. This is what I'm really waiting for. That might make for a worthwhile upgrade.

For time being I choose 7700X though I'll be interested in 3D variant.
7000 series offers significant increase performance in its core count, unlike its predecessors such as 2600 to 2700, 3600 to 3800 or 5600 to 5800, the current 7700X seems more attractive.

I plan on buying the 7050X as soon as the prices fall from retail prices. Under clock/underpower to 65 watts! Should be great for email, PDF, internet surfing and watching streaming content. Going have at least 64GB of DRR5 5600/6000 memory too! RTX 4090 inside too!

I assume you meant 7950X. I have one and the total system power @ idle went up ~40W when moving from B550 board with 5600X to X670 board with 7950X. The 7950x is undervolted with Curve Optimizer set to -15, not sure what the 5600x was set to but it was undervolted as well IIRC. It's not a huge deal and a fair trade off for much snappier performance when I'm using it for work, but it could be an issue for those in Europe.
