Sorry, this is in Finnish but I guess you can make the most out of it. Ordered a SSD, though I can't get PCIe 4.0 speeds out of it as I have a X470 board.

Well not exactly new but about 10 years ago I bought my wife an iBuyPower pc and today, after it being retired on the shelf for a few years, I was getting around to disassembling it to farm the parts for a plex server and found this wonderful magnetic 4-pin RGB strip hidden in the case.

1674710760833.png

It just so happens I have the 4 pin unused on my motherboard so I put it to good use as underlighting my PC since she doesn't care for RGB. :rockout:
I wanted to put it behind my rad for backlighting but the cable wasn't long enough.

looking forward to your results. one thing I was impressed by with my FC140 was the packaging, it was very innovative the way it came packaged, everything perfectly protected, yet also being economical. Very interesting design.

Optimum Tech on YouTube talks about how he owns 2 5800x3d's and in the same PC their temps are very different, on exactly same systems and nothing changed, he said that surprised him the most. I don't think you will gain much from the FC140 personally, sounds to me like you just got a hot 5800x3d.

I got my FC140 two weeks ago on a lightning sale for $40, I figured for that price can't pass it up. If I were spending $65 I probably would have went with the Scythe Fuma 2 rev b, but sadly they were out of stock at my time of purchase, so I said fk it and got the FC140. I am happy with it overall, but I do think the aluminum fins it uses are much cheaper quality than something you would find on a Noctua.

When yours arrives, I would very much be interested in you testing out my hypothesis... just "try to carefully grab one of the fins" on each heatsink and see if you can tell a difference in qualities (I feel like the FC140 saturates itself very fast on heat, quicker to spike its temp load)

That being said, it gets the job done and I can't complain. I have 4 rigs in my house, my parents each have one I built them, etc. My ultimate gaming rig I was hoping to build late last year turned into a disaster because of errors from the free ram Microcenter was giving out, I said fuck it all and refunded that shit show and went budget rig... BUT in a couple years if the industry gets it act together, I am going to go balls to the wall and get a Noctua NH_D16 (assuming its out by then) Ryzen 8800x3d cpu, and 8900 XTX gpu (assuming the industry hasn't become a complete shit show by then anyway) for now I am happy with my 6800 XT and 5600 at 4.7 all core.

Yeah and when I think that it has 4 fans with it, it wasn't expensive :)

Does it only do the teal color? I like that color personally, looks great. I got a NZXT H710 case for $59 recently, but I would rather have that one there. Much nicer imo, I didn't realize it until after the fact, the H710 can only do intake on the top and bottom (only has side vents not top vents... RIP... but it was only $59 so eh. still a good case for the price.

I have a guess that they're static RGB fans... I'll report when I get the case, probably tomorrow.

I guess mine isn't the hottest 5800X3D out there, but @freeagent is always making me feel bad with his luck lol

I don't need the FC140 to prove your hypothesis, I can confirm with what I have already. Honestly I should know what I'm getting into, neither the Thermalright nor Scythe coolers I have ever impressed me with their quality. Fuma 2 is PA120-level performance, not really in the same performance segment as FC140.

However, I have also been none too impressed with Noctua's QC in the past few years, so as long as the FC140 isn't bent (PA120) and doesn't have a pockmarked coldplate that damages my CPUs (SS135), I don't really care.

The FC140 is just another Phanteks T30 experiment. If the fan fitment is as poor as it was on PA120, the FC140 is going right back to Amazon

I'm happy with my FC140 stock fans. its a good looking cooler, but I am a bit confused, why does every other air cooler out there have pipes with bent tops at the top of the heatsink? but the FC140 does not have this... don't get me wrong I like the looks of the FC140 (I got the silver variant)

with my side panel off - in God of War 1440p ultra 165hz - I get 57 celsius on the 5600 at 4.7 all core 1.250 volt. its a damn good cooler really. lol my silent corsair 110q case chokes the fuck out of airflow though with my side panel on, so eh.

Wouldn't the heatpipes be exposed if you were to remove the top plate from either tower?

I recently and no idea why it took me SO long to actually do this. I bought a cheap one just to finally have one and well DERP I should have always had one...instead of poking around with a flashlight in my mouth. So yeah now I'm on board finally so I ended up grabbing a much nicer one that was on a "member deal" at one of my stores. I have posted here somewhere but I'll give the "quick specs"
400 Lumen(WAY more than enough for me at least) Magnetic charge cable and a "Red Light" mode if I wanna go all "Spec Ops" Oh and a 7 year warranty. Cost me $30 USD
I just can't believe I went so long without having one....

It does have them, they are under the cap. It’s just for looks. Pinched pipes aren’t really that sexy anyways :)

Your right. I found some more information for some reason I didn't find before.

https://www.titanrig.com/blog/post/lamptron-hardware-sensor-panels (I just found this link)
The sale page for HM088 unfortunately didn't have this link which would have been really helpful and includes a video how to setup.
It didn't help the USB stick that came with my monitor ended up being corrupted so I had no idea it came with a licensed version. :banghead:
I paid for the extreme version and then couldn't find the setup. It seems I didn't spend enough time looking for it and for some reason latched on to the idea I needed the business version of ADIA64 I have no idea why I reached that incorrect conclusion now.

There is a video on this link that shows how to enable the panel.
So just posting a follow-up. It turns out the back of the Lamptron monitor had a sticker for AIDA64 Business edition but the key printed for my unit was blacklisted.
I found out after communicating with ADIA64 support because I wasn't able to use the key to successfully download the business edition.
They replied that some LCD manufacturers bundle counterfeit copies of AIDA64 with their devices so it's possible I ran into this situation.

Bought the Brennenstuhl LuxPremium KL100 for building and maintaining pc's, and working on my cycle.

I have this as well, its a different brand, but same thing. It really does come in handy, I use it when building my PC too, hands free lighting is fantastic, looks goofy on me, but hey it works :toast:
