When to replace a PSU ?

I don't need more than that,I'll hook up my pc and one monitor only.

The advantage to connecting your network gear too is, in the event of a full power outage, your network (and IP assignments) will stay alive. This makes it nice as your wireless devices can still access the Internet. If you use VoIP, that stays alive too. And if you immediately shut down your computer and monitor, a UPS can keep your network alive for many hours. Just something to think about - even if full power outages are rare in your area.

BTW, I live in Tornado Alley so power anomalies are not uncommon. I have a good UPS on all my computers, as well as my home theater AV gear and big screen TV. I even have my trusty old, refuses-to-die, 25 year old APC 1000VA UPS on my garage door opener as well as an old 800VA UPS for the electric blanket! :D
