So I'm getting some bits together finally for my Lanparty. Right now I've got a hard drive and a burner on the way, which leaves me with getting a cpu cooler and a video card and then I'm set. So, any of these coolers will be going onto an DFI Lanparty Ultra-D NF4. I won't have a problem with the Blue Orb II blocking my 4th ram slot, I have a low profile stick of Kingston tiny BGA that will go there. I'd prefer a fan speed controller, as the Zalmans have. But if the Thermaltake Orbs are best for keeping a highly overclocked rig at decent temperature then I'd get one of those.
In my price range right now is either a Thermaltake Golden Orb II, Thermaltake Blue Orb II, Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu or finally a Zalman CNPS7500-Cu (my preference right now). Of course, these are all mid-range coolers really, which is fine for the time being. I do have a big preference for a completely copper cooler though, which is why I like the CNPS7500 out of those listed.
I've got to order one tomorrow as I really would like to get this rig set up and playable sometime next week. So, any suggestions on the above coolers? Anyone have one and can comment on it compared to the others?
Would all be greatly appreciated . Of course, I could just buy a crappy alloy generic cooler for now and then get a nice cooler in a few weeks, but I think thats just double spending.
