I'd say the Samsung, only because of the 160gb hard drive. But if you want the faster load times and not that much storage space, go for the Acer.
I take it the Samsung comes with XP? And, I'd also say Samsung because it has about a 2 inch larger screen.
But really, It doesn't matter which you choose. For what you want to do with it, it will suffice.

Edit: lol just realized football manager was a game...i feel dumb...
Yes, no optical drive on either, so you can't install the game by disc.

Good luck playing anything on either of these

To be honest their key specs are practically the same, go have a try with their keyboards and see how you like the monitors in pc world or another retailer, the size differences in screen and keyboard are really the most important factors seperating these two (which you can't really "see" online), also if hard-drive size is an issue for you then the samsung obviously holds a lot more out of the box.

They will play football manager - it's not going to stress it too much and if it does it doesn't matter as it's a football management sim (it may be a little slower at loading and updating but we're talking a couple extra seconds over a tower setup).

I wouldnt get either, lol.

Save up a little more and get a "real" laptop, not a netbook.

Unless you like that sort of thing.

but if I had to pic it would be the samsung for the bigger screen HDD, and keyb

Agreed

size shouldnt be a problem hard drive wise i have a 16ssd card and a 320wd usb portable hard drive! aswell and i have a sata to usb cable for installing football manager and xp!

but its the screen size i know its only 2" no jokes please! but seems like im going to pay and extra £100 for that thats what i am unsure about!

i would get a laptop but its the size and the fact that i can carry it easy

also was going to ask do you think the graphics on both will be the same and they have just worded the samsung so it sounds like its got 256 video memory when really its going to be shared memory?

Not just the screen size, but I find it impossible to type on anything smaller than a keyboard on a 10" netbook.

fair point somthing i have yet to try so could be a key factor
