It's up to you. The more expensive sticks are binned to run at those timings. The cheaper ones might run at those timings, maybe not.

Can't find the 7 7 7 24 ones just the 7 8 7 24.
They are the same colour scheme though.

Depends, i personally would go with the lower timings.

it seems you can select 1066 instead of 1333 and above : that should help you having 8 for x6 and a bigger hard-drive with both

Do not worry about the timings. We are talking about high end memory such as G.skills, OCZ gold/plat, Crucial Ballistix, Kingston HyperX Corsair XMS, with these quality sticks you can lower the timings yourself without sacrificing the bus speed.

So if i just get a none FX/ GX board will i still be able to get to like 4 Ghz?

You might buy a FX/GX board and still not achieve 4GHz.

The 785G chipsets are known for overclocking, most of the overclocking records done on the Phenom IIs and Athlon IIs CPUs were done using a 785G chipset motherboard.

Again, getting 4 GHz will depend on your aftermarket cooling, CPU batch, stepping, how much voltage you put into the CPU, NB, RAM etc, your skill at overclocking and luck.

Although I'm sure you'd get about 3.6GHz-3.8GHz at the very least..Once your motherboard arrives make sure you flash the firmware to the latest revision.

One last question. Does the Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AMD 880G come with the Hexacore update that came out last Month?

BUT, i also found this on the Asus site:

There's probably a BIOS update out there for it, but if it's a newer board that has been shipped/made recently, there is a chance that it already has the new BIOS on it.

Both the 880G and 785G chipsets are new and hence motherboards based on them will get the X6 update.

I'll be keeping the enthusiast cooler in my system until i can afford a new one. I just need the new rig first.
