why did my computer turn on by itself?

Call the ghost busters dude seems like you have a bad case of ghost recon :D

Surely, you must have heard of the blue mist-djinnis that power electronics. Clearly, there are too many mist-djinnis in your computer so you'll have to let some of them go... Quick way to rid the excess would be to place the running computer on the floor so that motherboard is perfectly level (important!) then pour about a quart of water on the motherboard, video card, and inside the PSU. And behold, a plume of blue mist should appear and your computer should be fine.

Largon, you forgot to add the "details" about the djinnis process. First, the water has to cold, for the full "scary" effect to the djinnis.
Also, when you place it on the floor, it has to be a carpet floor, garage and wood wont do.

i also agree it sounds like a ghost......this happened to me awhile back so what i did is i unplugged it so the entity dint have any way to out put or show itself than i went to my local church and got a bottle of holy water...i sprinked some on a cloth so it was damp and i rubbed it all over my case than i said the usual prairs plugged it in than after i had started my computer i made sure to clear the CMOS hint and everything was working agin.....make sure you sprinkle holy water on it often though so the ghost doesnt come back...because if you let it stay long enough it will feel welcome and worse things could start happening.

It's definately a ghost, as Solaris says, sprinkle holy water all over your motherboard while it's plugged in and then have a priest exorcise your power supply. I would also recommend hanging dream catchers all around and above your PC (about 30 should do it) to catch these evil spirits! then say 50 Hail Marys as loud as you can in the middle of a crowded street.

If that doesn't work then it probably wasn't a ghost and just a simple BIOS option. :)

Ghosts? come on guys get real, its blatantly a bios setting or something. Ghosts arent real haha.

good haha, i dont understand the whole belief behind gosts anyhow. and yes, as solaris said, clear CMOS or locate and edit the setting yourself in bios.

LOL, it's definately not a ghost as they don't exist.
How do you know? They could be around, just because it doesn't sound believable, doesn't mean "They don't exist". You need background facts/info before making a post like that.

just like how no girls exist on the internet. they're really guys pretending to be girls.

remembering picture "real girls do not call themselves CumSlurpr19"

I see dead people.

Could be true. Ghosts DO exist but they are invisible and cannot be touched and cannot hurt you (IMO). Ghosts are playful when it comes to stuff impacting electric such as computers.

Hmm...I know a good shrink in your area. They are playful too.

Id blame the ghost for turning your PC on
