Why is it so damn hard to find a white fan?

You would put the weaker fan on the left side of a conventional CPU tower cooler, moving air toward the rear exhaust vent.

Thus the more powerful fan is on the right, pushing air into the cooler's fins.

This is all based on Vario's theory which was not accompanied by any sort of external reference or documentation.

A more pragmatic approach would be to try it out yourself with your actual components in your specific environment (your PC case). Fans do not have linear performance curves anyhow so results will depend on whatever speeds you operate them at.
There a few sources out there:

It is a subtle difference. Additionally, running a shroud is beneficial as Martin shows. As you suggest, testing different things is probably the best. Personally I just test a variety of cooling setups until I find something that works well.

It's been proven a decade back by Martinsliquidlabs that pull nets higher temps vs push thru a resistance like a radiator. Iirc it was 1c difference in water temp on a 360 rad for ex.
Yes this was what I was thinking of.

Testing outside of the bounds of intention is serious? It is a ploy to gain followers and traffic, nothing more.
I don’t know what you mean by “bounds of intentions”
I will get hate for this, but it is reality.

The reality of people buying products from that type of a review. ;)
I was only referring to case reviews, which typically aren’t that great across tech media. I’m here for a reason, and it’s largely because TPU has some of the best reviews available, even if I think some places do better case reviews.

No shade to TPU — it’s a pita (and expensive) to do good case reviews (and fan reviews, which TPU is excellent at) beyond questions of build quality and component compatibility and the like. The case reviews here are better than probably 95% of the market, but the thermal testing leaves some things to be desired and, even then, perfection is probably impossible.

Hi,
So black fans are okay now ?
Can of white spray paint goes a long ways and pretty easy.

I was only looking for white fans to go with the cooler that I had. Now that I’m replacing the whole cooler, I don’t care.

What? Should I make a new thread?

I don't know why but i do have problems with ram clearance with dual 120mm cooler

Nope, you'll get the same people making the same responses. You're good.
The ak620 is a fine choice.

Is this what you are bent out of shape about?

Its ok if the fan sits on memory.

AKA... R.f'n.G.f'n.B.f'n
With lurv :)

Edit: Oh, I've found some white-colored fans but they all have RGB and no... just no. I'm done with RGB puke.

Why is RGB even an issue? Just leave the shit unplugged. Example of complaining for the sake of complaining right there.

NO, dont paint your fans unless you are only painting the frames. You paint the fan blades themselves and it ruins them with all the extra weight and thickness. Even with a clear coat and wax dust piles up really fast, especially the edges and just kills their performance. I did it years ago with Antec Tri-cools and some Yate loon high speed 85cfm/2000rpmers and they still couldnt overcome the burden of the weight. Live and learn i guess, but there's some wisdom from a guy who travelled that path already. ;)

If it were only that simple. My corsair keyboard and razer mouse won't save rgb settings to the devices so I have to keep two pieces of bloatware that need a 500gb update once a week running in the tray to keep rgb off. The only thing that I could turn off rgb by unplugging something was my 3080 and I had to take it apart to do it. RGB makes components more expensive. I wish we had an option to simply turn it off, but we don't. It's a pain in the ass and no amount of "just turn it off or unplug it, derp-a-derp" will make it any easier.

Cool story but thread is about fans "derp-a-derp." Last I checked, about 30s ago to be sure, if the rgb cable is left unplugged the the lights don't come on. There are a plethora of all‐white fans out, yes the bulk of them have RGB but as I mentioned before that is a non-issue if the cable is left unplugged.

Here is a radical idea along the lines of your original post about fans: make it so you can turn it off. I realize I'm going to piss off about 90% of everybody here with that insane idea of making it so you can just turn it off.

Hi,
Yep I use open rgb to turn off effects on my trident-z royal memory kit works good

In that case, spray paint is your friend. Don't forget a clear coat to make it easier to wipe clean.

Painting fan blades is a bad idea. It doesn't cross your mind when you're doing it, but paint, like any other material, has a weight :)

Ok, that experiment didn’t work out. Oh well, live and learn.

I’m thinking of replacing it with this… DeepCool AK620

Any thoughts?

The AK620 is regarded as a quality budget heatsink these days. The same goes for the Assassin 120 SE, which may also be of interest.

Since you're doing a white themed build, though, I would recommend this one instead, if you can find it:

NEPTWIN WHITE - DeepCool
