Why is my machine acting like this?

I have tried the following...
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:K:\sources\Install.esd:1 /LimitAccess
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:C:\Users\Tom\Downloads\ESD2WIM-WIM2ESD-v2\install.wim:1 /LimitAccess
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:\Users\Tom\Downloads\ESD2WIM-WIM2ESD-v2\install.wim

I keep getting error 0x800f081f "The source files could not be found." What the hell?

I tried that, didn't work. I may have to reinstall the operating system from scratch and not just do a reset.

back up your important stuff to a separate drive, disconnect all other drives other than the SSD, use Samsung Secure Erase to clean that drive off. Then Install the OS

I may hold off on doing that. I may just do a whole system upgrade and wait until then.

As for Asus not supporting the motherboard under Windows 10, it's true; they don't. Hell, Intel doesn't support it either. The last chipset drivers that were published by Intel is for Windows 7. The SATA drivers are over three years old.

If I'm going to keep this system I may have to go back to Windows 7, the last truly supported operating system that this board supports.

its not advisable to run windows defender and malware bytes also I see chrome using a over a Gig of ram in a single sub process
edit:
its not a driver issue its not a os issue
event logs sayth your hard drive is failing backup and replace
a flaky drive will make the entire os hang and run like frozen dogshit while it waits for a i/o interrupt
./thread

because windows defender is already a av/am
run one or the other not both that just leads to fighting over i/o resources

op has a dying drive nothing to see here folks move along

Is there an easy way to find out which one of the four hard drives that I have is failing? Disk 6 translates to what?

So even if I'm not actively using the drive it can hang up the operating system?

logs say its drive E
thats the one showing corruption AND complaining of bad blocks repetitively at least

Hmmm. Now you have me thinking. I've never considered that possibility, I'll disable defender see if I notice any improvement

at the risk of further topic derailment

windows defender combined with smart-screen and a ad-blocker are usually sufficient unless the user is a idiot and goes looking for trouble

Agreed. That's what I've been using. Windows Defender and Adblocker and sometimes no-script when viewing porn sites.

There's no E drive; there's only C, R, S, T, U, and V.

What can I say, I like the anime image.

check the cables else don't trust the smart values

its also dropping from the system probably the controller has had it
replace the drive hard drives are cheap data recovery isn't

But which drive could be the culprit? I've got at least three drives to look at. That's a lot of testing.

I am not magic you are going to need to figure it out
I told you how windows numbers drives by port and install/detection order

the drive is throwing a error literally every 10 seconds should't be too hard to pin down

What a way to make a person scared.

I would detach all the HDD's drives leaving only SSD with the system. I have installed on Win 10 on my computer and I didn't have any problems except the power management with HDD which was shutting down and starting up again ( with clicks company while doing that) Maybe try with less HDD's connected. That might be an issue too. Do you use a matrix for the disks?
