The question would be here. Does the Oculus rift support dual GPU's?
If it adds a support then maybe yes but knowing how SLI develops that might be difficult or pointless.

yep I got those cards in 2014 and they are already obsolete well I don't have the money to upgrade

Sell them both and get a current pascal card which atm are superior in vr. --->1070 ish. Also, its not like you have much choice... yer not gonna get very far at all with a 780 in vr.

As long as the SLI support is there and the CPU to handle the GPUs are certainly enough

My Xeon and 970 score 8-9 out of 10 for virtual-reality capability

I checked on craigs list to see what the 780 are selling for and the going price is 125 I still don't have enough to buy a 1070 ill just wait tell i can do it and be happy with what i have it will be a long time

I don't know how serious you are but if it were me I would sell them now why they still have value. Then you're only 100 away from a 1070 on sale. For ex. some recent deals. Granted you have to save some and get by w/o a main gpu, it's not easy for sure but personally I'd rather have that hassle and recover $250 towards something than nothing. Btw, craigslist is lowball city.
