The very best part about running win 7 and using gear that is old AF (sometimes) is that it is stupid cheap on Fleabay, etc.
I need the best GPU for win 7 with the only parameters being is it can't require more power than it can draw off the board, and it has to be greater than 256MB.
My kid wants to play EvE with me and I don't want to drop anymore on a GPU than I absolutely have to as he will probably get bored with the game before the GPU gets here.

750ti LP is a great Card for board only power. iirc the 1050ti LP is also board only, also has 4gb's Vram. i know because my nephew got a dell optiplex from a old work buddy at dell, & it was the SFF version. there were no PCIe power cables, & there was barely any room for add in cards. both those cards above require no pci-e power & iirc both come with full height & LP i/o panels

every single card nvidea on the market supports win 7 to my knowledge (bar 300)
Same with amd apart from legacy cards

If you are asking for recommendations, the this is the right section. I will change the title of this thread to reflect the actual purpose and delete the other one.

EDIT: Moved your original thread from the B/S/T section, merged them and reinstated posts that apply to the discussion.

Whilst I was not involved in moving your thread, having looked at it, as soon as you state in your OP................

"If anyone has one laying around they want to sell"

it would get moved to the B/S/T forum to comply with our guidelines, why? because if someone sells you something in BST there is at least a layer of protection as there are requirements to prove the item actually exists and belongs to the seller in the first place and they need to provide a heatware link as well as meet certain criteria to be able to sell to the community in the first place, whilst this is not infallible it does offer a degree of protection to the community, this is why we do not allow threads of any topic in any of the sub forums to offer to buy or sell even if the topic of the thread mentions other subject matter also.

In future, in accordance with the guidelines ........ feel free to PM a Moderator if you are either not happy with a situation or just wish to know why an action has been taken, if you are unsure which Moderator took the action then just drop one of the Senior Moderators a line (there are 3 of us), we have access to pretty much everything.

Sorry man. I couldn't figure out who the mods were or I would have contacted one of you directly. Not sure where on the page to see who the mods are. I appreciate you guys restoring the page.

Regular mods are blue like the text in my siggy and supermods are green. :) You can also click the Members tab at the top of the page and then staff members on the left to see who's who.

Other candidates include RX 460/560 and GTX 1650, which I believe is the fastest slot-powered card available.

Edit: But for less than $100US, your best bet is probably a GTX 750 ti.
