Windows 10 not working with 5.1 surround

I've got my audio going from my gpu through to my Denon receiver (Then to my TV) but for some reason I can't get it to run in Dolby 5.1.

Has anyone else had this problem?

HDMI is working for me in 5.1 in windows 10, although i'm using PCM and not a compressed signal.

good point, is this for media playback or games?

are you dealing with 5.1 compressed sources, and trying to decode locally, or passthrough and have the receiver decode?

I'm just trying to play a DVD in surround and games as well. I tried the media player classic and vlc and they both don't work.

DVDs have multiple sound files. Make sure you select the correct one

Should be able to right click on the screen and select the proper sound
