I couldn't find where to report this so I'm posting this here. I have a different error than the guy on windows 7 so I made a new thread:

This comes up when it launches and then nothing happens

I've a i7-6700HQ that I love, dearly

I really don't mind it not working that much, it does give a pretty consistent battery boost but it's honestly like 5% or so

Sooo no rush I guess

Second thread today with problems

I think in the latest Windows 10 version, Microsoft decided to block the WInRing0 driver that ThrottleStop uses. That driver is needed to access the CPU. No access to the CPU means no more ThrottleStop and no more RealTemp. Game over. :(

They were both fun projects and kept me out of trouble for the last decade.

Sad to hear:cry:...I'm sure you will be keeping a eye out for a possible work around though.

No workarounds. If Microsoft does not want individual developers accessing the CPU registers then that's it. They are following Apple's lead. Lock 'er down. Enthusiasts will have to find another hobby when they are done.

I wonder then will this be affecting XTU as well?

This appears to be mobile only?

Desktop or mobile CPU should be the same thing.

Really? Does XTU use the same thing? I gather that it should given that DRDNA mentioned it, but I am also on that build and XTU seemed to work fine for me last night.

Just to let you guys know that this should be working again too. Realtemp was borked too but since build 16288.1 is working again! :toast:
