No, not really. What’s sad is how slow functional boot times have become on Windows. I’ll start my work laptop, sign-in, then go get a coffee. If I’m lucky, Teams has started up by the time I get back. Contrast that with my M1 mini, and I can cold boot it and have all my active windows from my previous session (including, mail, browser, and photo editors) open in maybe a minute. The mini consumes 25W at most, so it’s not a power issue. I’m confident that my work laptop has more thermal headroom. It’s just all that overhead in Windows consuming so much time. It’s hardly a fast boot if you have to wait 2-3 minutes after desktop to actually have a quality experience.More update microsoft crap-show nonsense...
Is anyone surprised?
