just a quick question if i update my vista install to 7 will i still have all my programmes installed or just files? And will my files be in the same directory as they are in my vista install or will 7 move them?

thanks guys

When you do an upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 (or any previous windows version) there will be a folder in your C: drive that is labeled "Windows.old" and it will contain everything from your Vista install.

right ok, never done an upgrade before just clean installs. So i wont still have all my programmes either?

if not ill just stick to doin clean installs.

Im not sure about the programs as ive never done an upgrade myself either but i dont see why it would keep them installed. Its better to do a clean install anyway.

ok fair enough, i know its better its just ive got a tone of stuff and im feelin lazy tbh, just fitted central locking and an alarm system and changed the exhaust manifold on the car. dont really feel like fkin about with the computer now
