Hello, recently i installed windows 10 1803 in my pc, games were running so slow specially battlefield 1 aswell as other games stuttering like quake champions and rainbow six siege, idk if its a problem of the OS but i wanted to install Windows 7 again (i only have win 10 due to i want to play forza horizon 3 lmao) so the real question is, should i reinstall windows 7? Or windows 10 1607 (people says this is the most stable) Here are my specs, if you see something wrong

AMD FX 9590
GTX 1070 TI
16 GB RAM

I dont want to see Intel fanboys saying "amd is shit" no pls, thank you :D

Could you tell us your fps, set gaming resolution, cpu speed, online or offline gaming and driver ver
with the performance of that card none of those games should be "stuttering" , but without the info I would venture a guess and suspect a bottleneck issue from cpu...about switching os there is a debate on 7 vs 10 in gaming but I lean towards the former for existing support and compatibility with older h/w

Ok so this is for BF1, when playing offline im doing really fine, over 100 fps but when playing online, is another story lmao, like 60-70 fps with drops to the 20s 30s, really annoying. Im playing on ultra settings at 1080p, played the beta and ran perfectly trust me, and after release it used to run very well on my old 980 ti, i changed my 980 ti and updated windows 10 and i've seen a decrease in performance on some games, idk if im the only one who suffers from that :(

Cpu speed is the default one 4.7 ghz and driver version is 391.01

ok then this is related to win update first try rolling back to previous version and see if problem ends but then this further makes a case to switch to 7 ie 10 updates come with erratic performance changes...

Be sure to set windows to high performance mode and turn off any monitoring software While gaming, using the latest version here and now I have to kill any app with a poll rate as i get hitches.

W10 seems to come with a time penalty before it starts working efficiently no matter how much you shut up or off. Before I switched W7 was functioning at a very high level. M$ products are really behind the times and even the little bump forward in W10 makes a difference. No great answer here other than stick it out and keep fighting or go back to where you came from.

If you have extra hard drives use one for win 10 only games and another with windows 7 for everything else. That's the smartest thing to do. I do this.

For what it's worth, when you go to the Windows Update Advanced Options, you can choose to be in the Semi-Annual channel, which delays those big updates for a period of time (3 months I think?). I've chosen to do this myself because, as many of us know, these big updates can be quite buggy. Imagine installing Windows 8 on top of 7 on top of Vista on top of XP... all within 2 years (6 months for each update). That's kinda what's happening here.

I might prefer a copy of W10 LTSB...

We install Windows twice on almost every build. In a typical SSD + SSHD setup, it allows access to files immediately if the OS gets fudged. I expect soon, as prices drop it will be multiple SSDs. You didn't list what your storage setup is so can't give specific recommendation. But if ya using an SSD for OS, could easily grab another device and put Win 7 on that.

Let's assume ...

SSD with windows and programs
HD or SSHD with games.

Option A

Current SSD with Win10 and programs
New SSD with Win7 and the game(s) that needs Win7
HD or SSHD with other games.

OptionB

Current SSD with Win10 and programs
New SSHD with Win7 partition and 2nd partition* for games (SSHDs 1.5 faster than WD Black / 2+ times faster than WD Blue in gaming tests)
HD or SSHD for whatever

* accessible from both OS's

You choose which to boot from via BIOS
