Hey,
I installed Windows XP3 Corporate Edition April 2008.:banghead: I had Vista Ultimate already installed in other drive. Now when i start my computer i am not getting the dual boot options. It automatically starts with XP SP3 and doesn't allow me to start with a Vista. Please help me. Should I edit the boot.ini in XP ? If yes tell me proper command lines to add, I am not in position to format any of my drives. I knew this could cure with bootcfg command but for that i need to use the repair option from the Disc. But the Disc doesn't allow me to do so. I don't why but the Corporate edition of SP3 doesn't have a repair option.

One more query. How do I install Photoshop CS3 in Windows XP SP3? Not able to install.

Please help me.First priority is to clear the boot and then photoshop.
Thank you.:respect:
Cheers!!:toast:

Thank you for your reply.
I tried with the startup recovery with Vista DVD. After i check the diagnostics its says. Repair successful. But still the same problem.

Trying the Easy BCD.
Thank you.Hope it works for me.

BTW my boot.ini
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /usepmtimer

I tried BCD. No use..
Even tried the Reset Vista Bootloader.still no use..Please help me.
I fear doing the Vista Diagnostics.... Suggest me what to do.

Thanks will try and let you know my progress..

No problem..any time I have used the command prompt option I just used -

bootrec.exe /fixmbr

bootrec.exe /fixboot

Then restart.

But that guide seems to be a more in depth procedure.

I've had the same problem and the above worked for me. You should, as a general rule, install your operating systems starting with the oldest to the newest: 98-->2000-->XP-->Vista.

You can try my two commands,as it is easier and if it works then your good.But if you want to follow the guide then it is up to you,only gave mine as the guide might be harder to follow as there are more commands to actually rebuild the BCD as well.

Hopefully either one will work for you :)

Thank you for your great support.

I totally disagree with you, but whatever…it’s the way you think and everyone has their own way of going on in life.

Completely unnecessary bud (please don't post like this). I used vistbootpro back when setting up my dual and worked great. Give it a try if the Vista cd does not work.

What is this??

I don't understand what is goin on now??

I was not happy that he took the time to waste a post that did nothing but disagree with everything that was posted, and did not feel it necessary to explain his point of view. Rather than try and help, just state that he "totally disagreed," and left it at that.

On an on topic note, any luck with the Vista CD yet?

@Snake05
Problem solved. The bootrec.exe commands worked for now.

I still have the second problem hanging. Installing Photoshop CS3 in XP SP3.

Glad you got the boot problem sorted :)

As far as CS3 on XP SP3 goes I dont know as I dont own it.May be if you could post the errors your are receiving then someone else could help sort it out for you.

One thing you can try is the CS3 cleaner which will help remove any old install files etc and then try a fresh install again.
You can get it at the link below and follow the instructions included in the download.

No no the new installation has problem..
Photoshop Pros..Help me.. :P

Did you try the Adobe CS3Clean Script ? If not, it might be worth a try.

"will help resolve installation problems experienced by users of Adobe Creative Suite software. ............ It will also look for and repair registry permissions and remove obsolete registry entries of older Flash Player versions, to ensure successful installation of the shipping versions of Creative Suite 3."

What error do you get when you try to install the software??

I tried using the Adobe CS3Clean Script. I used it 4 times. Even removed Adobe Flash CS3 and Adobe Dreamweaver CS3. Still I am not able to install the Photoshop.
I even copied the contents from the Disc to computer and tried to install(many people have resolved their installation problems by this method), still I get the same problem. It tells me to insert the disc.

Help me.

One more thing when I cancel the installation after the error. I get the reason as "\ payloads \ AdobeALMAnchorServiceAll\AdobeALMAnchorServiceAll.msi " missing.
I am sure the DVD is not corrupt or the file isn't missing. Cause I checked all the files.

Making it easy to know my problem..

The worst part is the problem arises only in XP.
I was able to install it in Vista after cleaning my registry and using the Adobe CS3Clean Script.

I will try to do what you suggested.
