As Windows Vista has now arrived, for better or worse. Perhaps it would be wise to create a Windows Vista sub category of the Software section. No doubt the transition will result in some problems. As more an more users adopt the new OS undoubtedly problems will arise, and be more frequent, for an extended period of time. This is a fact not speaking in regards to the quality of the product, but simply as fact, that any large scale adoption of any integral platform results in in anything from user error, to undiscovered programing errors, and other issues. The thread I propose would NOT be for Vista related news, or other abstract Vista discussion, since such threads nearly always result in conflict. It would purely be for TECHNICAL SUPPORT, in problems experienced by those currently using the OS. Providing a centralized place for the technical exploration, and troubleshooting for any Vista related problems that may arise during the course of Vista transition.
 
well i'm in then as i got vista today.no problems yet.aero works ok.i just tried painkiller on steam and it worked as good as on xp pro.
 
Good idea. That way, people considering buying it can take a look and see if there are many problems and chose whether to wait a few more months or not.
 
Slightly better idea. Since people ain't going to look for a solution to Vista problems in the "Comments and feedback" section of TPU, and more likely General Software, why don't you delete this thread and start a sticky in General Software? It worked for my "Got BF2142 problems? Post them here!" thread :).
 
It's in comments and feed back, because it's a suggestion. This isn't actually the section that I'm proposing :) .

Doesn't a new OS deserve a little more than 2142 did? I guess it will probably have less bugs tbh, but it's the principle :D
 
Making the sticky. It can at least have that much for now.
 
start with a sticky first, if that really gets popular we can still make a new forum
 
Just my opinion; but I think we need a General Windows section, rather than a sticky or subforum in General Software.
