Hi,

My friends and I play lots of games on lan but we don't have a router. We create a p2p wireless network and play. But we get a lot of lag at times specially when there are like 4+ people playing. We plan on buying a wireless router to prevent this lag ( the lag is because of the inferior network right ?).

Can anyone recommend a good wireless router that will allow upto 10 people to play without a lag that won't cost an arm or a leg ?

Thanks :)

Edit : or will just any ol' wireless router do ?

any decent router should be able to handle it. Pick up a good linksys or something, they're not too expensive.

what price range should I be looking at to get the best bang for buck ?

60-100$ (american) 100 bucks being on the high end. Linksys WRT models should be able to handle it easily. As for lower than that, i'm sure they will work fine too, but signal wont be as good and all that.

Make sure the router has a 300mbps transfer data.

make sure it can run good software, openWRT, DD-WRT, Tomato
