Word 2007 crashes are not a bug, but a feature designed to prevent...crashing.

As some of you know, there are already plenty of things out there that can harm a computer through Word 2007. Microsoft already thought through this, and added some software that automatically detects when Microsoft Word 2007 is being exploited, and shuts it down. However, this software also will shut down Word 2007 if it detects a Word document that it cannot read. While your computer is safer at the end of the day, there certainly is irony in how Word 2007 stops itself from crashing by, well, crashing.

lol, and all these problems since Gates (the heart and sole of the company) stepped down and got replaced by a sheer business man. office xp for the win!

.......what?!??! imagine if that was windows...it crashes everytime it encouters a file type it doesn't know and crashes. man i would hate that. and the fact that they have it crash instead of it going into a safe mode or prompted the user if they still want to try and open the file

lol thats funny

OpenOffice 2.2
No more needs to be said.

Wha? This is something really interesting... so...it stabs itself to stop itself from stabbing itself?

That's an unusual feature. It sounds like they also include it in their OS's, and when it does, it displays a complimentary blue screen with text. ;)

I think it's more like ... when it detects that it is about to be stabbed, it detonates a small thermonuclear device. :D

That is an odd way of protecting software. You would think they would block the executing thread and mark the file as a potential exploit, and then simply not load the file. I am no expert on the inner workings of Word, so maybe the safest thing to do is just kill it all.

shrug

ROFLMAO...I dont believe Ive used WORD 2007. Maybe I should get it.
