I'm curious as to how well the campaign is...I was not impressed at all by the MP Beta...seemed to be better off as a $10 or less add-on to CoD4's MP. But if the campaign is decent I may pick it up! Maybe a mini-review is in order there ShadowFold! :D

I played it and its pretty repetitive with the constant bonzai charges. Yet the game looks beautiful and the beginning of the russian campaign really got to me. The AI are still Idiots though and the snipers in the trees just get really annoying

Yea the ai was pretty much ass. I thought the banzai dudes were pretty funny tho, "BANZAIIIII!!!". I LOVED the Russian missions tho. The last battle was pretty intense.

That'd be cool, I know my G/F and I could play online at the same time using my copy, since the DVD was not required for MP...and it did PB kick us for 5 minutes once out of 3 weeks worth of playing lol!

so... wait, a legit key can be used MP on lan, or online at the same time? just clarify for me, it'll help me decide if i should buy a second key online (i know a place to just get CD keys, as opposed to getting a second disk etc as well)

When I say MP I meant online, not on LAN. :p

She decided to play online with the clan after beating the SP game, I figured I'd let her play here and there...she decided to load up the game while I was on and it let her play...so for the few weeks it had her interested she played and we had nary a problem except for that one PB kick, and that was about one week in iirc. LAN I dunno about...depends on how strict for CD-Key calling and reporting it is...I don't do much as-far-as lan.

Same servers, some random, our clan server and some other clan servers.

I'd say try it...worst that will happen is PB Kicks...if so, go get the second copy. But remember I'm also reporting on CoD4, not 5, there could be some new changes here along with PB updates that might deter this now...this was a few months ago when I was going pretty strong in CoD4.

You can LAN without an online profile(meaning no legitimate copy needed).

If you want to play on servers, you'll need the second key.

The shame about the coop, is that it's just the missions, which is fine, except if you've already played them solo, it's repetitive. They should have also offered special custom cooperative missions/maps as well as some other added features.

"You can LAN" meant you can play any game type/mission whether COOP or MP.

    yay!

its not as silly as question as you might think, red alert 3 just came out, and its coop is online only - no LAN at all for that mode.

Gameplay is definatley the same as always, which is fine for the pace/action when you want it, but the amount of bullets you take is as awful as COD4. You get these large battles of retarded AI just running all over the place and you're taking nine bullets from all directions.

I wonder if anyone one of these developers has even found the safety on a firearm.
Where the hell do they get their ideas?

Moving on ... the complaint about it being 'another WWII' game, is dually noted, so they opted for this 'world at war' theme, which in reality is just a gimmick, a new title; however it COULD have been legitimate.

Don't only give us the same ol tired and played out Ally and Russian scenarios, let us be the Nazis, the Japanese(besides just in the MP), the Italians etc. It's really pathetic how companies are so afraid to 'touch' the Axis thing these days. Seriously, has there ever been a game where you play Nazis, and you can take over the world? Talk about a doorway to a whole load of fresh new content. Imagine Germany takes over Europe, and decides to breach the shores of the United States? You wouldn't care that the weapons theme was the same, you'd be happy with just some new scenarios, new agendas and new scenery. Imagine crossing the breadbasket of the U.S., with a league of flamethrower soldiers clearing out wheat fields as a tactic to starve people? Or crashing plantation houses in the south for their space and using them as control centers or headquarters?

You could start a whole new franchise on this alone. You invade America, and start taking over city by city. The theme may stay the same, but the time would pass and development of new equipment would come into play.

Imagine they made cities DETAILED, like ridiculously detailed so much so that they have to release each city as an expansion.

Ultimatley, they'd run out of things to do, and in the end you'd just be going to a new city with slightly different scenery, but they could add the outer lands / suburbia to it as well. For instance, you leave one city after taking it over, and then start heading out towards the next, about halfway to the next is where the game ends. The expansion picks up, and you continue on the journey, traversing different landscape and scenery as you approach the next city. And they wouldn't always have to be big cities. They could make the intent to control a certain part of a state.

And can we have some naval battles...please?!?!?

Anyways I'm going way off on a tangent here; but the point was that there ARE places they could take these games, instead of just rehasing the same old environments and themes and scenarios.

I get all my games from a private FTP based in the States. The host is a dvd and video game distributor who I pay on the side, for content before it's publically/officially.

Most of the stuff comes in about a week or two ahead of time, depending on how soon the developers release promotion discs to the disty.
