Would like to know if this is bad.

Before talking about what I'm worried about, here are my specs, it's a ASUS laptop.

CPU: I7-7700HQ 2.80 Ghz.
GPU: GTX 1060 3 GB.

About two months ago, while playing, my laptop was running hot (could reach 96ºC). I'm very new to technology, PC, and stuff but I started using ThrottleStop, following all guides, until I managed to get my temperatures down to 15 grades, depending on the game and how demanding it was of course, but in general, the maximum temperature I would reach was 85º C. A week ago, I brought my laptop with me to a PC shop, since I bought a new SSD and I wanted them to install it for me, and clean the fans as well, changing the thermal paste was not necessary, I did it with a friend half a year ago.

My PC goes a lot faster now, but in games, the temperature can reach 92-96 degrees maximum while playing (I don't really know if it's a constant temperature or not). One of the screenshots I will attach is an example, I was playing a game called Lost Judgment and took the picture after finishing that session of playing, so like I said, I don't know if that temperature is constant or not.

Apparently, it only reaches those temperatures in 2 of the FID (thought in others it reaches high temperatures like 89). Other external programs I use are MSI Afterburner and Lasso so I could deactivate Hyper-Threading in games (that's why Performance mode is in Bitsum Highest Performance).

I'll also attach my Throttlestop config. I don't know how bad this is, or if it is bad at all, since like I said before, the maximum I would reach before installing the SSD was 85ºC. I don't know why those 2 specific FID reach those temperatures.

Gaming laptops run really hot. While this isn't concerning, its particularly interesting.
They could've repasted your laptop with lower quality paste?

According to the woman who attended me, they took a look at the thermal paste to corroborate that it was replaced and indeed it was, but that's all there is to it, she told me they did nothing else.

changing the thermal paste was not necessary, I did it with a friend half a year ago.
Some thermal paste can start to degrade in as little as two weeks when used direct die on a mobile CPU. Do you remember what thermal paste you used? Pump out can happen to some thermal pastes when you operate your laptop at high CPU temperatures for long periods of time.

I agree.

I have no idea what the tech might have done when cleaning this laptop. It is possible that he removed the heatsink to clean it. He may or may not have replaced the thermal paste when he did this. I would be suspicious if your CPU temperatures went up after he worked on your computer. That is why I never let anyone touch my computers. You have no idea what they might have done. It is always best for you to work on your own laptop. There are lots of YouTube videos available for almost any laptop model. It might be a good idea to redo the thermal paste.

Your settings look generally OK. I would clear the BD PROCHOT box on the main screen of ThrottleStop. This type of throttling can really kill performance. Your CPU will still slow down if it ever gets too hot whether BD PROCHOT is checked or not.

Edit - You can never look at the thermal paste. Once you have a look, the CPU needs to be thoroughly cleaned and the thermal paste has to be replaced.

You *usually* have to repaste if you take off the heatsink. Not necessary outright (as in, it WILL perform worse, but not catastrophically so) but could explain the lower thermal performance. Also thermal paste degrades, or the pressure might be off by just a bit.

I'd argue any half-capable technician should know better and replace thermal paste they looked at.

Redo your thermal paste. You will get better performance. I'd argue against paying someone to do it, it should be a simple job, and you saw what kind of stuff can happen if you let other people touch your computer.

I didn't know NT-H1 did this. Thanks, you saved me a headache about to happen.

Yeah I remember the thermal paste I used, it was an artic mx4 4g, reccomended by a friend of mine. https://www.amazon.es/Arctic-MX-4-2019-micropartículas-Ventilador/dp/B07L9BDY3T

I know there are tutorials but it still scares me to open a laptop XD, I could have asked the friend that switched my thermal paste half a year ago, but he said he was done with repairing laptops and PCs even though he knows how to, so I didn't want to bother him with it, that's why I went to the shop. I think it also was because my friend accidentally broke one of the fans while cleaning them, he felt so guilty about it that he purchased a new one to replace the broken one.

I'll deactivate the BD PROCHOT as you said, is there anything else I could consider changing?

Me neither! I guess that is why Noctua released the new and improved NT-H2. It seems to have less pump out issues.

I think the contact pressure between heatsink and CPU can vary between different laptop models. NT-H1 might work fine depending on the laptop. I would still recommend using NT-H2 for obvious reasons.

I have heard non-stop problems from people that use MX-4 on their laptop CPUs. I have no first hand experience but I would not use it.

Ok, guess I'll give it a try or try to convince the friend that helped me replace the thermal paste again, he is someone I trust. Thank you both for your answers.
