I run a YouTube channel and recording off of my HP-Pavilion g6 Notebook is just not cutting it with frames especially when im recording, the frames on the laptop are around 30-35 when I play such games as (ARMA 2 and Blacklight: Retribution) but when I start recording it drops way down to 10 frames.

In order to answer this question with any degree of accuracy, we'll need to know your system specs ;)

Welcome to TPU! :toast: :)

Something is missing here...like the OP.

way to fix that is to have a mod post the op quote

Subbed with popcorn, gotta see what happens here. :D

I hate it when that happens :toast:

OpticalF3AR: Welcome :) you mention two different computers 1) HP-Pavilion g6 Notebook 2) Gamer Mage D245
so I'm confused what are you using the notebook for?

The Gamer Mage D245 is a decent gaming PC but not great by far. How are you recording gaming?

The HP-Pavilion g6 Notebook well lets just say not for gaming

No idea why your frames are dropping that much... your specs are definitely up to par.

See he says his frame rates are droping on the notebook when he records and plays games. That would make sense

I missed that part, I saw system specs and assumed that was the machine in question.

FX8150? I think money can be better spent with 3770K when it comes to recording videos. With that get faster Ram and also better graphics card, the 560Ti is comparatively weak now.

Something I have in mind with streaming in mind:
3770K
660Ti (eqv) or better
loads of fast ram (1866 or faster, 8GB or more)
SSD if you are saving your recording, but I am not sure how big this needs to be. Fast HDD should be sufficient but again, don't quote me on this.
Any PSU, 600w should be sufficient
Motherboard of choice
You don't need soundcard, onboard is usually more than sufficient unless you have a specific need for it (driving expensive audio setup or need a better input)

Consider getting a seperate video capture card, like this: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=309480
