Well, as I said, I don't believe that 7600GT score for one second.

Then look at mine.

Edit:Unless mine is the one you don't believe.

Yes, its yours I don't. I just can't imagine an extra CPU core helping out a 7600 that much. Since as I said, my 1950 Pro only gets 5100.

Just be careful with flashing the HIS card, HIS doesn't usually make "standard" cards which means "standard" BIOSes can break them.

Yes, its yours I don't. I just can't imagine an extra CPU core helping out a 7600 that much. Since as I said, my 1950 Pro only gets 5100.

Both cards were run in the exact same rig, so any help the dual core processor gave the 7600GT it gave the x1650Pro.

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=1036399

There is the compare URL. It is a legit score, no matter how much you don't believe it, that is what the 7600GT scores, which is why the 7600GT stayed in the powerful rig, and the x1650Pro is in with a Celeron. Playing games with both of them was also as different as night and day. The x1650Pro can't keep up with the 7600GT in anything.

Sometimes I wish somethings never come back :shadedshu

Dude the X1650XT outperforms the 7600GT 24/7, except in open GL. The X1650XT > 7600GT.

No it doesn't, I have yet to see an x1650XT do over 4000 in 3Dmark06, even when overclocked as high as possible. Mine maxed out at about 3700.

Not double, thats an overstatement to teh_max.

4108/2153=1.908...

That is close enough to double for me.

Hahaha, that's the spirit!

The lack of SM3.0 doesn't bother me all that much, given the fact that there are very few new games that spark my interest... Oblivion is probably the newest thing I play. But then, hey. You neeeever know.

Anyways, I'm a little shaky on flashing the Sapphire card with an HIS BIOS. First, I'm going to try something Formula suggested, and that's trying older drivers. Newer drivers may not actually help Crossfire in older cards, like the 1600's, given ATi's trying to fix and provide support for their shiny new cards.

Then a part of me also is screaming "x1650 XT!".

We'll see.

OK well he got the Sapphire on both.

Why can I not find ANY drivers for the RD480 chipset? (Xpress200, renamed to 1600)

But look at the 3DMark06 scores in that link, the 7600GT actually scores higher, and if you look at mine it scores quite a bit higher than a x1650XT which even when overclocked maxes out at about 3700(the x1650XT I had overclocked like complete ass).

Well I don't live there, so I don't know the priced, I only know the prices here in America, but pricing of all hardware in Australia is kind of screwy from what I hear. Like I said though, in America the 7600GT can be had for only $7 more than the x1650Pro, and the x1650XT is even more expensive than the x1650Pro(obviously).

X1650XT > 7600GT, that X1650XT was running at half speed anyway!

X1650 ftw at budget price, mine was ÂŁ51!
I'm gonna run 3dmark 06 AGAIN to see if I can break the 4000 point barrier. The only issue here is that my monitor only supports 1280x768 maximum so it prob doesn't mean a lot lol

SURE... Now since when did you have a X1650XT Its quite obvious that the X1650PRO is shit but the X1650XT isnt >_>

X1650XT > 7600GT, that X1650XT was running at half speed anyway!

The scores I showed were for a x1650Pro, the x1650XT I had I don't have scores uploaded unfortunately, but if you look around 3500-3700 is actually pretty good for them. Too bad the cheaper 7600GT outscores them.

Don't know if the rig in his profile (upper right of the post) is what has SLI, but thats only scoring 4900

http://www.maxitmag.com/forum/graphic-cards-displays/1594-pny-7600gt-x2-sli.html

Still failed to make a point. My single 7600GT scores 4100, look at the ORB result if you don't like it, but that is what it scored. A single/non-SLI 7600GT scores 4100 once overclocked, deal with it. And before anyone says anything about the high clocks on the 7600GT compared to stock, something you guys seem to be missing, no I didn't volt-mod the card and that was stock cooling, the cards are just that good at overclocking.

SURE... Now since when did you have a X1650XT Its quite obvious that the X1650PRO is shit but the X1650XT isnt >_>

Well lets see, we first got into this argument back in January. So it is safe to assume I have had one before then. And like I have said, the x1650XT is the only decent x1600 series card, it is just usually overpriced compared to the 7600GT wich regularly outperforms it(once both are overclocked).

Dammit!

I figured as much. Half the time, I don't think the cards are really in Crossfire anyhow. 3dmark 06 scores never change. It's always stuck at ~2800. I've had issues with this motherboard since the day it was first fired up. Back to the drawing board..

He just needs the right motherboard right now, and the 1600's would be real nice. At least you got killer AA now for like, Free heh.

The score you have for that X1650Pro is BS.
That card is NOT a REAL X1650Pro. (Dude, my X1600Pro is running faster than that:shadedshu )
Don't you see that card has 391Mhz memory? X1650Pro should use GDDR3 memory @ 700Mhz.

3Dmark06 routinely reads clock speeds wrong, in fact the clock speeds on my 7900GTs are way off from what they really were when the test was run.

Of course if you actually did a little research and actually knew what you were talking about you would see that the score is actually pretty accurate for an x1650Pro, and see others getting roughly the same scores. Here for example:

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=1372735

Funny, on one side I have an ATI fanboy claiming the score is complete BS, and on the other I have an ATI fanboy claiming it is reasonable, and neither backing up their claims. I love it when the fanboys can't even agree with eachother.:nutkick:

Well for starters, my bad, I didn't know it was a Pro, I thought it was an XT.

Secondly, sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not a fanboy :) I've already made it full and clear I'd love to own an 8800 of an flavor. I back XT claims up in the other thread, if you'd pay a little attention.

Yes, but then you didn't really make any claims about the x1650XT here did you? You didn't back up your claims about the 7600GT.

And you were the one that said the score was reasonable, so what you are saying is that the score of 2100 is reasonable for an x1650XT?

Yes, but then you didn't really make any claims about the x1650XT here did you? You didn't back up your claims about the 7600GT.

And you were the one that said the score was reasonable, so what you are saying is that the score of 2100 is reasonable for an x1650XT?

Jesus christ, read the thread that Cartmen made, I said that in my last post. I backed the XT up in there. And no I don't think 2100 is anywhere near reasonable for an XT. I think a Pro should get at least 2700, but that's just me.

Now I am really confused by your constant backtalk.

First you say the score is reasonable, then you say you thought the score was for an x1650XT, so you are basically saying that you think 2100 is reasonable for an x1650XT, now you are saying an x1650Pro should be scoring 2700?

Anyway, you haven't backed up any claims about anything yet, not here or in Eric's thread. You posted some benchmarks showing the x1650XT trading blows with a stock 7600GT. Nothing that shows the x1650XT is actually overall better than the 7600GT, and nothing that shows anything refuting the claims about the overclockablity of the cards. The only thing we got was an article by you saying an x1650XT can't keep up with an overclocked 7600GT. Not exactly backing up your claims really, but it does help mine out, thanks.

well if you have to overclock the crap out of the 7600gt to beat a x1650xt wont it just kill the card faster making the x1650xt a better card to buy ?
