X370 UEFI Drama...

Your boot drive has GPT (GUID Partition Table)?

In the Ryzen system? Yes, most definitely.

Ok just As I thought, the 2016 bios files need a GOP update

I've no idea what a 'GOP update' is. But, educating me on that point need not be added to the agenda.

Its a part of the bios file for uefi protocol that needs updating.

I think in your situation leave the card alone until you have the 6600, then you can revisit this, unless if @siryoink or @Final_Fighter can assist

@Mussels do you know anyone that might know?

I really dont want to risk a rx580 crossflash to said card

OK. I thank you very much for your time and assistance. And, the same to everyone else who contributed.

I'll follow your guidance and leave things as they are.

Going by an old post from Mussles it looks like the attached is what you need.

Put simply it looks as if this will inject the needed GOP module for you.

Obviously like any kind of flashing you should have a way out or to recover.

EDIT::

I have a few minutes to check this for you.

I downloaded the bios @eidairaman1 wanted you to use (and that you did) in this post:

I then ran it through the GOP update tool

After patching GOP it dumped the following BIOS (attached)

I would try and flash the modified bios and see if it makes a difference.

It also goes without saying, but if you have not updated your motherboard BIOS It may be worth it. My test system is a ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING and that things UEFI bios is a buggy mess.

@720p low
Download the bios @Solaris17 has just modified and follow the same directions to flash it.

Are you using a system with a core i cpu or amd apu?

OK, I flashed the "cooked" ROM that Solaris17 kindly prepared on the AM3+ system, as I didn't really have any option at the time to do it on the AM4 board. The card behaved normally afterward.

Next, I swapped the RX480 and the PSU back over to the AM4 system, discharged the CMOS once again, and was able to boot into Windows. (It took a *long* time for the splash screen to appear, probably like 40 seconds.) Powered off and re-booted just to check, and this time the system started without any delay. So, at the very least, I had the RX480 and the X370 back on speaking terms.

SO, let's play with fire. Back into the motherboard BIOS to disable CSM, save and re-boot.

SUCCESS!

The system went into Windows and now GPU-Z reports as below. Notice I was even able to get Resizable BAR enabled. (Although, of course, S.A.M. isn't enabled in the Adrenaline Control Panel for Polaris.)
The only odd thing is just before the ASRock splash screen appears while booting, I get this psychedelic display for an instant. This is with UEFI enabled, not with CSM. Doesn't bother me, but I thought I'd mention it, just for the record.

I'll "3D" the hell out of this thing for a bit, just to see if it explodes.

Thanks once again to everyone for their help and time. You are all good people.

When you decide to upgrade we can attempt a RX580 bios from xfx for experiment lol
