Well, I'm planning to get the Xbox 360 Premium soon, and I had a few questions about the battery pack.

As many of you know, the Xbox 360 Premium comes with a wireless controller, but the thing is, it doesn't come with a rechargeable batter, only 2 AA's, which is kind of a pain. Now, I was planning to get this Microsoft Play & Charge Kit for $19.99, BUT the Xbox 360 has to be on to charge it since it plugs into the Xbox 360's USB ports, which is a pain because I would be spending most of the time playing wired. So, my question is, will it work if I just plug it in to my computer's USB port, or even on my iPod wall charger? Would it ruin the product, or should I not risk it and go for the Nyko Charge Station, which comes with a charger that doesn't require the Xbox 360 on to charge, and it comes with two battery packs instead of one.

plug your controller into the pc,its what i do:toast: the only problem is the computer wont know when to shut the charger off like the 360 does so you will have to unplug it from the pc when u think its been charging for a long enough period...also windows will want drivers but i just tell windows to kiss my a** and cancel all install prompts......also you can only recharge the battery packs

Well, what else is there possibly to recharge besides the packs?!?

And also, how long does it take you to charge it? Will it damage it if it's too long?

And will it work with this:

Just plug it into your PC like the other user suggested. It won't be damaged, the controller stops charging once full I believe. I personally recommend the play and charge kit, it works great, I very rarely have to charge my controllers, the pack holds its power for awhile.

some people have tried using the rechargeable batteries,it dont work.....i have never tried to use my ipod charger.....but i though that was only for firewire cables...and it takes me 2 hours to charge it......and if you overcharge it i would think it would degrade battery life just like anything else

Would you recommend me saving $10 on the Play & Charge over the Quick Charge Station? Or would the $10 be worth it?

Well, the iPod charger has USB, but not sure if it'll charge though...

my friend has the quick charge station and he says that after 5 months he has to buy new batteries....because they die faster each time he charges them....dont know how much truth there is to that story..but i guess if u rapidly charge something it would degrade it?

Well, I just read some articles on google that you can use it on the iPod charger, so a big plus for me. And also about 20-25 hours of play time? Is that true...not bad, just perfect playing time for the weekend. I'll just charge it on my wall when I go outside or something. Save myself $10 instead of getting the Quick Charge kit.

I get, on average, around 31 hours per charge

That's good, so about 1-2 charges a week for me! Btw, is your vibration on at all? Or is it set to low?

You can just turn on the Xbox by hitting the X in the middle right? Because usually the game I'm playing at the time I just leave inside, so I can just turn it on from anywhere and play right away...and I though that battery gauge was nifty too!
