Hi guys, if i have an old workstation ( hp z210 ) with intel Xeon processor E3 1230, can i upgrade the processor to E3 1280 V6 , same LGA 1155, thx in advanced

That is a socket 1151 Processor, so no you can't use it in a socket 1155 Motherboard.

Different socket, different ram. Op, make this easy and just look at the supported cpu list.

Yes I realized that after making the post but i found another option , the intel xeon E3 1290 V2 with higher speed and performance but the question is do will i get the maximum performance on the processor on my old board I searched for it but I didn’t fined and answer

That's all you get. Literally right on their website.

Yes i saw the specs on hp site, but it was written before the creation of the xeon E3 V2, maybe its and upgrade of the V1 because it have the same LGA 1155 , and maybe it will be supported bay the board

And unless you contact their support, we don't officially know if V2 is supported.

The 1290V2 is supported by the PCH206 Chipset, but we don't know if HP have a whitelist which only allows certain CPUs to run on that Motherboard.
In theory it should work.

Good evening, I come back to this old post, can someone confirm to this day that the Z210 motherboard recognizes Xeon V2 processors. I am thinking more precisely of the E3-1290 V2 SR0PC.
Thank you for your attention
