I have a question.

I bought a new rig today.

Specs:

Processor: i56600k
Motherboard: MSI z170 PC MATE
Ram: 8GB 2x Corsair DDR4 2400mhz
CPU COOLER: Silverstone TDO2-Lite 240m
PSU: Silverstone 750W GOLD
GPU: (2x) XFX RX480 GTR Black Ediotion 8GB 256bit [Crossfire]

After I installed everything today all is well. Except after I install the AMD RADEON Crimson driver. First it went well. Restarted after I installed everything.

When the my computer is at the (bios loading part) the 2 GPU led is on. But when it enters to the windows 10, the GPU2 led turns off.

Is there something I missed? Maybe the settings in crimson radeon? or anything?

Tried everything, in setting amd crossfire in on and its detecting the 2 GPU's. Or maybe its idle when not in use?

Cause when I play a game, the GPU2 will turn on again. And off again if im not in game.

Thanks for your time. Hope somebody will talk to me about this.

This is my first AMD GPU by the way.

PS: Sorry for my english im not really good at it but i will try my best communicate well

2nd card turns off to save power

I think that it is supposed to be like that, but I have not used crossfire since my 6970's.

if it is turning off after the OS loads, it is either as posted above (a power issue) or Xfire is disabled in the CCC control panel...most likely

run GPUz and see if Xfire is enabled.

Did you ensure Windows Updates, motherboard drivers were installed first?

I wonder if PCIE link state power in win power properties affects anything...

Mine does that ULPS is enabled which shuts the GPU off. Start a game and watch it turn on as if by some form of magic.

Where to enable and disable that? is it not harmful to the hardware? turning of and on? sorry bit of a noob when it comes to AMD

In the Crimson settings, likely under Gaming>Global Settings though I don't have CFX so can't confirm... and no there's no issue with one card being powered down when it's not in use, it's a feature AMD implemented.

Why would you want to? you certainly dont need Xfire for browsing the internet, watching youtube or typing something up in Word.... Or god forbid...... even......
Excel

Leave it as it is and it will prolong the life of your PSU & your GPU as its not always in a 'powered on' state

Sir Freedomeclipse. UPDATE, I installed all the games. Each give will only give me 5-10 minutes playing then the screen turns GRAY. Please help me! OMG! This is so frustrating

That's typically a driver crash issue, how did you install the drivers and was it a clean OS install?

That's curious. I haven't run into any grey screen issues unless my video card overclock was to high.

Turn off ULPS. It is a buggy mess, getting a gray screen is one of the common problems. You can use MSI afterburner to disable it.

Update the motherboard bios too
