Nice change to see people asking for advice, following it and having things work without issues - as opposed to the "I bricked my card pls help" posts that are sadly the norm.

Looks like another successful flash.

Hi, I followed the process you went through and got the same results, however when I benchmarked the card I seen very little uplift to performance. How did yours perform after the flash?

What is the reasoning behind wanting to flash the GPU

It gives you about 97-98% of the performance of a stock 5700XT assuming you're not bottlenecked by some other component in your system (cpu)

From his post about he mentioned not seeing any performance gain which makes sense as that i3 is a huge limiting factor

The XFX 5700 DD appears to have a dual bios switch. However, I could not find documentation for which side is regular v. quite.

In any event, can I flash one side as a 5700XT and keep the other side as the stock 5700 DD?
Would I have to reinstall drivers every time I flipped the switch?

Thank you.

I think average gains are 5-10% max, mainly because all this seems to be doing is increasing GPU voltage and power limit therefore enabling the higher XT clocks but at least its for free

I've been trying to follow the process but every time I try to enter a command my command prompt crashes/closes immediately after hitting enter.

Hello there,

First off, Merry Christmas!

So I had the same issue as OP (mismatch ID's) and followed everything and successfully flashed the THICC II 5700 XT BIOS.

However, I'm having serious issues with AMD's drivers ever since.

Right after I finished flashing and restarted, windows acted like I had no drivers installed (5700 drivers were still installed as far as I was aware). So I downloaded and installed the newest drivers from AMD.
Everything seemed fine until I started Star Wars Battlefront II.

The moment I launch the game, my main monitor's gamma goes completely whack even after I close the game. It's like the gamma/contrast goes completely nuts and I can't do anything to reverse it but restart my PC. I've tried re-calibrating, logging off, messing with settings in-game, even editing the game file to turn DirectX12 to '0'.

I downgraded the drivers to the one before AMD's new Adrenalin and Battlefront II works fine. For the past two days I've been uninstalling (DDU in safe mode) and re-installing drivers and for sure it's every version of AMD's new Adrenalin.

I'd like to note that during this problem, my secondary monitor is completely fine. If I change the game over to the second screen, no problem, but my main monitor is still afflicted.

I've tried repairing the game, clearing Origin's cache, uninstalling & reinstalling SWBFII to no avail. The only thing that seems to fix it is any driver version before the new Adrenalin.

Also, even though gaming seems to be fine on the old drivers, Radeon keeps crashing. I've attached the crash details.

Is anyone else experiencing this at all?

My specs are as follows

OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Processor: Intel I-5 2500k
Monitor: LG 32GK850F-B

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

Also what are your system specs? Are you using the igp or another gpu?

Attention to all those who are wanting to flash your cards

Since the Subsystem ID will be changing slightly you will need to do a force flash in an administrator privileged command prompt. (Find cmd in start menu right click and open as administrator)

If that is not performed you may receive the stupid 0FL error.

Then follow this command

Enter this command first

Amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0

Then enter this command

amdvbflash -f -p 0 XXXX .rom

Note: XXXX is the name of the VBIOS file you downloaded. You can also change the downloaded file name to a simple name.

Otherwise you do it this way:

Create a new text file in your ATIFlash directory, name it FLASH.bat, and place this code into it:

@Echo off
cls

echo Flashing card 0 with BIOS.rom...
echo.
amdvbflash -p 0 -f BIOS.rom
echo.

pause
Assuming the new BIOS you want to flash onto your card is named BIOS.rom, this is the BIOS it will use for flashing.

Save your changes, then run the batch file by double-clicking on it.

Once you've received a success message, reboot your computer for the new BIOS to come into effect. If you can boot into Windows successfully, then that's good! (Note: your screen may flicker for a bit, because you basically have a new card, and Windows is trying to recognize it. If you want to be thorough, go ahead and do a clean re-install of your graphics driver

I am not home at the exact moment but I will get a GPU-Z shot and the relevant information associated with it! I will be here in like 30-45 minutes though... Crazy fast response and I appreciate it

You need to download ATI Flash from here
I did that and I actually bricked my Gpu and had to ubbrick it... Story: I used the force command. It did flash it to the 5700 XT but it was the black screen. Had to unbrick via the switch method. But any recommendations?
