@RCoon , you need to go easy w/ Warframe. I understand that the Plains of Eidolon are awesome, but there are other games that need your attention!
P.S. As soon as I get done with Witcher 3 and free up some space on my SSD, I'll probably be spending just as much time in warframe as you do... Unless iD/Bethesda finally fixes Quake Champions and launches the core game on Steam...
What the f... What happened??? Warframe? 2015 called...
I mean had you swapped places and put Path of Exile on your top 8, I could get it, it actually got beefy content updates, but Warframe... that's becoming a festering heap of game systems in total confusion rapidly. I come back to Warframe from time to time and I played it at pretty high level... but today? What's triggering you to keep playing and how many hours have you invested so far? I'm genuinely curious.
My top10 this year, and yes, they're not all 2017 titles, screw that, I like being fashionably late:
1. Total War: Warhammer 2 (Mortal Empires made this title kick DoS2 to second spot)
2. Divinity: Original Sin 2 (just wow. Everyone needs this in their gaming life)
3. Stellaris
4. Tyranny (bonus points for originality, lost 3rd spot due to being so brief)
5. WoW: Legion (Burning Crusade nostalgia button = pushed; cancelled sub last week)
6. Overwatch
7. Mass Effect: Andromeda - brief, but fun while it lasted. No desire to replay, unlike the trilogy before it
8. DA: Inquisition - gave this a fair second chance, and was pleasantly surprised
9. Path of Exile
10. Grim Dawn (new xpac is great!)
Plains of Eidolon....
At least that's what makes me wanna play again. Check out the dev stream on youtube - it looks awesome.
I actually don't like the Plains of Eidolon. I've farmed the Eidolon boss enough times to craft the best combination of parts for a top tier AMP for my operator and haven't touched it since I finished building Gara. It's my least favourite part of the game. I pretty much relentlessly farm to finish my collection of... well... everything. I must have all the things. I just finished a Prisma Grakata, Twin Grakata with Mesa build last night for maximum dakka. I basically set myself projects every week or so and then focus on completing them. When I get bored I smash around in Grim Dawn or whatever and then come back to my project fresh face.
I pretty much level everything to 30 in alphabetical order, and then if I enjoy something I'm levelling I'll forma the crap out of it until its broken enough to bring to sorties, then continue my gear levelling passively while I farm some nodes/help some players.
I had about 400 hours logged pre-Steam account link, and Steam reckons I've clocked in over 600 hours, so 1K hours total I suppose? Whenever I burn out I take a break, and while I own and have completed all the "meta" builds, you'll still find me leaping around with weird builds. Sometimes I run Inaros with Health Link on my infested doggo and Hirudo everything to death. The key is to not take the shortest path to success, but the most fun. Obviously when running bosses/Raids/sorties I run meta builds when required. I ended up maining Titania of all things.
Warframe is very much a labour of love for the devs. They've become a lot better at admitting their mistakes and then fixing them quickly, but also apologising afterwards. I fundamentally disagree with a lot of the design choices, including the Plains economy and the current way you gain focus (which they have said they're fixing Soon(TM)). It's the only game that makes me want to come back.
EDIT: WANNA SELL ME YOUR LOKI PRIME SYSTEMS BLUEPRINT? PLEASE.
