Even worst.
Have you actually played it to say that?

That's the problem with the internet, so many sheep that blindly follow a few and repeat what they hear.

It's actually about as good as Black Flag, which puts it up at the top.

Again, how is that a basis to rate a game? Many games have had a series of many games. Some within that series are good so.e are bad. But rhe number of games is not a good way to rate. If anything, it points to overall success.

Ok, how about another way? How many FIFA titles have there been? If I suddenly want to start playing, why couldn't I pick the newest?

Assassin's Creed first title is from 2007 and Fifa first title is from 1995, that said, it is obvious that you will play Fifa newest one and not something from 1995 or 2000 but AC is from 2007 plus it is a sequel what it means that playing from the beginning you will understand better the Game.

Never the case though, take Metal gear solid franchise for example.

games released in this order:
Metal gear
metal gear 2
Metal gear solid
Metal gear solid 2
Metal gear solid 3
metal gear solid 4
metal gear solid peace walker
metal gear solid 5.

Chronological order to play in timeline would be something like:

MGS3
MGS Peace walker
MGS5
Metal gear
Metal gear 2
MGS
MGS2

AC: Origins is a prequel in timeline for the game so it would in fact go...

AC: Origins
AC
AC2 (Brotherhood etc)
AC Black flag
AC3
AC unity
AC Syndicate

Am i wrong or those two are not the same game and what about AC Rougue
and AC Revelations?

Ac brotherhood and revelations are follow up to 2.
Rogue fits just after black flag or inbetween.

If you was thinking of playing brotherhood and revelations then you need play 2. All the rest you can more or less play anywhere.
For Example: A lot of people in today generation would have played metal gear solid 1 first since it was released on ps1 internationally.

Same with star wars really you can watch 1 or 4 first. But a lot of people prefer starting at 4.

Didn't know they made a sequel. I was completely mesmerized by the first Spin Tires
"Oregonian likes logging game." Shocking. It's in our blood. I'd be pretty damn surprised if you weren't fascinated by it. Me...I had a Love/Hate relationship with her. We had a good run. But in the end we had a bad breakup. And she kinda broke my heart. Long story...:(

Anywho...it was very refreshing to meet up with her again years later. :) She's changed her evil ways and made sure to make up for all her past wrongs with me. I wouldn't call her a sequel though. She's more of a redo. Basically the game she should have been from the get go. Lots of the same old stuff(in a good way). But also better in just about every possible way.

So...yeah...if you liked the first one...I HIGHLY recommend it. ;)

According to the people who I spoke to about the game (those who are fans of the series), it doesn't seem to require any previous Assassin's Creed gameplay experience to understand the story. It was for this reason along with a bit of interest in ancient Egypt that I thought I would give it a go. And it turned out to be a pretty good game.

Not really though - AC's narrative started off as a progressing story but they quickly dropped that and you can't really say there is such a thing as an overall progressing narrative across sequels. Its just a new 'adventure' that takes the basic ingredients for a new, similar storyline. You can pick up any AC and before long you'll be versed in what's what - this is also why Black Flag stands out, because it adds unique new things to the game setting. And Origins stands out because... not sure actually, still havent played yet, and not interested in supporting the heavy DRM practice.

Which is a BIG shame IMO because the concept and stance on religious fanaticism of the first AC was insanely strong, but I think after the game's success they realized they could never drag that out so long, AND they would eventually create a shitstorm with the subject matter as the franchise quickly became mainstream. You can clearly see a big change in the sequels after part 1 on that subject. Ubisoft really scored big points with me for taking on themes such as this - I didn't like the damage control they already applied on Far Cry 5 for example. Its nice when games encourage you to think critically about touchy subjects. I AM happy to see it still is a returning thing with Ubisoft devs, it shows character and creative vision.

I'm not sure the gaming industry, especially on PC, even warrants a whole top ten list for 2017. For me the main two standouts were Ghost Recon Wildlands (except for the awful Narco Road DLC), and Middle Earth: Shadow of War. Already finished GRW, and am still playing SoW. There seems to be a ridiculous amount of Orcs coming back to life in this one, but there's so many interesting and funny Orc characters this time around, and such good dialog, that I never seem to tire of them popping back up from the grave. It usually just gives me another good laugh.

Granted there's a few other titles that had moments of good gameplay, like RE7, CoD: WWII, Wolfenstein II, ME Andromeda, Sniper Elite 4, DiRT 4, and The Evil Within 2, but holistically they pale in comparison to other installments in their series. I've yet to play AC Origins, and am looking forward to it. It's the only other one I can think of that might wind up on my best of 2017 short list.

I may also play Project CARS 2, but from what I've read it's not really any better than the first. So for me it's a struggle to even think of 10 PC games this year I'd even care to play, let alone praise as top 10. That's partly because I only play certain types of games, but also because games are kinda stagnating. And yes I've also played all the way through Dishonored 2 and a ways into Prey, but didn't find them interesting.

Prey was a really good successor to the original.

You quoted me before I edited the post. I've also played all the way through Dishonored 2 and a ways into Prey.

Granted, I haven't played too far into Prey, but I already don't like the way it's structured. The GLOO gun is too awkward to use IMO, they put too many advanced monsters in early on that you have to avoid, which also means many of the side quests you find early are a no go. This of course means lots of back tracking once you do become equipped well enough, which kinda ruins any chance of suspense in battling tougher enemies. I can see that the game had potential, it's just not put together well enough to make use of it IMO.

I also see it as more of a stand alone title than successor to the original, because it has basically nothing to do with any of the characters, creatures, technology, or setting of the first one. I'm not sure how it even makes sense they call it Prey.

I like the open station structure of the game, gloo is useful in fighting but it's more like a tool not a weapon, it's better to rely on your powers to fight, same as arkane did in dishonored 2. Monsters are tough at the beginning but nothing you can't overcome with a bit of cunning.

also, don't understand this part:

"they put too many advanced monsters in early on that you have to avoid, which also means many of the side quests you find early are a no go. This of course means lots of back tracking once you do become equipped well enough, which kinda ruins any chance of suspense in battling tougher enemies."

what ? so you'd like to be fully equipped at the beginning then, where's the point in that ? and those quests usually require you to go to various places on the station while you upgrade your character, it's well structured imo.

I have always enjoyed playing variety of games from the get go,what opened that floodgate is mainly from coming from playing console games at young age first and then some PC games as i got older. Different types of exposure which help increased the types of games i like playing.

I played Prey on normal mode and the way i played it gave me huge disadvantage against the more tougher enemies later in the game, to the point i would just avoid fighting and just run away lol. Always low on items and always near death but i manage to beat the game only doing 1/4 of side quest. It was a fun game but i found the ending to be a bit disappointing.

I didn't say I expect the best weapons at the start. I'd just rather be introduced to the tougher enemies later in the game when I get them, which would be more suspenseful than seeing exactly what you need to deal with early on in the game, then back track to them.

The side quests I spoke of are a mix of easy to get to personnel, and ones in areas where you're better off avoiding. They're found in a log you access. The game is just a mish mash of doable and non doable quests at the start, and the only way to discover which are which is by tedious trial and error. It's a big part of why I haven't gone back to it. I got bored early on with that crap.

And funny you say the GLOO gun is more of a tool, because that spray it on the wall for steps to do a quick escape bit actually IS what I was referring too. That little tutorial video they show of a crew member doing that with blinding speed is very misleading. It's nowhere NEAR that easy to use for such things. It's also pretty clumsy at freezing mimics unless you have just one in the room, which is rare.

Suffice it to say I miss the original. It had great mirror cube and gravity puzzles, and I also liked the alien shuttle craft segments. It was more of a Doom atmosphere type game, and done very well,. This one has nothing to do with it. They shouldn't have even associated this one with that game in any way.

ES2... is so f'in good. Like Endless Legend, Amplitude found a way to keep the 4X exciting throughout mid-late game. The diplomacy options are out of this world (literally, lol). Can't believe I didn't spot this gem earlier :)

Its great, Im just still puzzled why they make the gem purification and most other crafting so ridiculously expensive, like, you jump into Hard or V Hard thinking 'okay I'm gonna minmax the life out of this' and then you see the cost of removing a single attribute pegged at 500 purple thingies... when you get 7 per mission. lol. Luckily there's ways around that by just smart use of the penalties, but still.

If it were an EA game I'd be looking for my lootbox store now :D

BTW, if you liked this Shadow Warrior, you may also like this one; very similar combo of RPG-light with high activity combat. You can also expect a similar non existant or completely silly story too :)
Lichdom: Battlemage. Quite a looker too. Dont worry about the mediocre reviews, because yes, its a one-sided game, but again, if Shadow Warrior was enjoyable, you cant go wrong here. Custom spell crafting etc.

Note the guy in the vid isn't really creative. But you can be :)

> this guy's abit more creative
