Hows that? It still puts out graphics, a car with a 130hp motor still accelerates compared to one with 1000hp, just much slower. Granted the 4890 is a very fast card, that was just an extreme example.

This looks to be a budget oriented card with a good cooler that isn't reference, but doesn't break the bank on manufacturing costs, wonder what it will retail at.

Most are looking for value these days anyway ... so it`s nice to see this from PCS . The only thing that worries me is the temperature .The heatsink looks like a low profile one and kinda low-end , witch would be acceptable for the stock clocks , but not for overclocking. The VRM area looks like it`s getting some good cooling , but i don`t know about the GPU itself . Some numbers would be great . Anyway .. it`s nice to see non-reference cards , so PCS has a + from me :)
Btw jamesrt2004 : A type of video adapter that contains its own processor to boost performance levels it`s called an accelerator . All video cards are graphic accelerators . Doesn`t matter if we are talking about a RIVA TNT or a GTX295 .

But it doesn't sound like a more powerful version, the box will most likely say "4890" not 4890 accelerator, thats just the tech term that has been tagged on, which is what it is. They aren't calling it a 4890 PCS++ or anything, so not really same as the golf example. I was just saying, anything that outputs power in shape or form is an accelerator, no matter how slow or fast they are.

Keep in mind it might overclock better than the default cooler too.

It looks like they stole the 'high performance' cooling from Club3d:
