God, WHY A DUAL SLOT cooler damn it. With a single slot you could decendly Crossfire them and its not like its some super high end card that needs some intense cooling.

iAm getting tired of seeing all this iCrap after the release of the iPod... Intel has it's integrated iGraphics... now we have iCoolers. iReally wish Apple would sue everyone who uses the i iDea. That said... iWouldn't mind having this card. The cooler looks to be pretty good, minus the crappy iName.

Boring card. The hardware specifications are iDentical. Nothing new except a different colour of paint. Until someone does something INTERESTING, ie. a down-clocked passive, an OC active, a 1024MB card, etc. then the 4770 moniker is getting very very boring. NOBODY wants DSUB on a modern GPU. Everyone is on DVI or HDMI. And for those that arent, dongle the DVI. Two DVI outs allow for a workstation dual monitor setup. And the thing is DUAL SLOT. They could have put 2 HDMIs 2 DVIs and 2DSUBs if they wanted to! And IF someone wants to say they have a "custom designed" 4770, then let it now be the blxxdy colour of the PCB. After all, this thing is INSIDE the case, who cares about the colour. Custom = unique features that are truely differentiated from the competition. How about a 4770x2.

AMD doesn't want you to come up with an overclocked HD 4770 (or one that uses other means to perform better than the reference card (1 GB memory, etc.))

They need to start making all cards in 1gb variants. Ever since I moved to a 1080p res, 512mb cards just don't do it anymore.

Problem is they dont want the 4770 to cannabalise sales from the 4830 or 4850... hence why the 4770's feature set is limited.

Say that is the case. Now, AMD can make better margins on those 4770s, and they can overclock them to outdo a 4850 in performance for less. Here's the issue: why would you then buy a 4850/4830? My point is, AMD's partners probably have tons of theses older RV770 chips out on the market, and they want them all sold before they let their partners "enhance" the RV740. I'm sure, that ideally, AMD only wants in the market for the mid to high-end, RV740 and RV790 chips (and have all the others already sold).
