Kingston is out with its newest 12 GB triple-channel DDR3 memory kit. Unlike the last time, when the company came out with a three-module kit consisting of 4 GB modules, with the KHX1600C9D3K6/12GX, the new 12 GB kit consists of six modules. What is also noteworthy, is that the new kit costs a fraction: Around 350 Euro versus over 1000 Euro.
The six 2 GB modules are cooled by the classic Kingston HyperX heatspreaders. They are rated to operate at 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) with DRAM timings of 9-9-9-27, with module voltage of 1.65V, along with Intel XMP support, making them just about ideal for socket LGA-1366 desktops and importantly, 2-socket workstations.

12gb for the ultimate user
i hardly see a need for 12gb just now but its nice to see its an option for high end users

think ramdisk
6x2gb for 350 euros ?? whats so good about that, you can buy 2x6gb of much better kits for 200 euros :shadedshu
Not only that but i have some HyperX that run at 2000 with better timings than that.
by: InTeL-iNsIdEYeah, but those may be different slightly. These would be guaranteed to work together. Still cost too much.

by: PP MguireI don't understand this... HyperX is only a division of Kingston, it's not a brand of memory IC.

im sure pp mac knows this.. but does pp mac have 12gb kit that does 2000 @ lower timings?
i would love 12 gb. i have no need for it but i just want to get to say that i have 12
if i had such a thing i would make 5gb+ ramdisk for either benches or a game that loads alot.. maybe. but def ben ches.
Still too expensive when you can get 6x2GB A-Data XPG 2000X modules for AUD$396-435 - thats around 265 euro or US$400 for 3 kits of 2x2GB dual channel. Can easily bench 12GB A-Data 2000X @DDR3-1600-2000Mhz speeds at 1.62v !
by: BingeImplying it is dumb to buy a product from a company you can get a better product from at a lower price to boot.
