Corsair Officially Announces Hydro Series H70 CPU Cooler

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the Corsair Hydro Series H70 ultra-performance CPU cooler. This CPU cooler is designed to provide an extremely efficient cooling solution for CPUs from Intel and AMD.

The Hydro Series H70 CPU cooler is an evolution of the award-winning Hydro Series H50, with several significant upgrades that enable it to deliver even greater cooling performance. These upgrades include a double-thickness (50mm) radiator with higher heat-exchanging capacity and a pump/cold plate unit with increased efficiency. The H70 also features two 120mm speed-switchable cooling fans in a push-pull configuration to provide increased airflow at low noise levels.
"Thanks to the H70, you no longer need a fin array the size of a small shoebox to cool aggressively overclocked CPUs," stated John Beekley, VP of Technical Marketing at Corsair. "The H70 stands toe-to-toe with any CPU cooler on the market, and does it with less noise, easier installation, and support of nearly every ATX-compatible case."

Like the wildly popular H50, the Hydro Series H70 provides the benefits of water cooling in a sealed and pre-filled unit, with no maintenance required. The low profile cold plate is extremely space efficient, and is very low in mass compared to heat pipe based solutions, putting less stress on the system's motherboard. The H70 includes mounting hardware for most common AMD and Intel CPUs, and, unlike some competitive CPU coolers, includes all necessary fans for high performance operation.

The Corsair Hydro Series H70 CPU Cooler is available immediately from Corsair's worldwide network of authorized distributors and resellers. It is supplied with a two year warranty, and is backed by Corsair's legendary customer service and technical support.

I dont know, your Prolimatech maybe as good if not better. I do like this, wish they would go with a 240 rad in the same thickness :)

That fin array really is tightly packed.

Swap to Gentle Typhoons for best performance!

Unless Corsair have provided decent fans.

.. Probably not XD

Bigger rad, smaller pump, crappy fans you do the math. With a couple of decent fans this could some damage unfortunately to your wallet first.

i wonder how bad the extra weight will be on the rad, especially with two fans on it. they'd better provide some harcdcore nuts n bolts to attach it with.

This is a kind of relevant story. I had to RMA my broken 520w Corsair PSU and they sent my a new sealed 650w PSU. They don't make the old 520w, but I thought it was awesome when I opened up the box expecting a crappy refurb PSU.

The news the other day: "Corsair Readies Hydro H70 CPU Water Cooler". Today: "Corsair Officially Announces Hydro Series H70 CPU Cooler". Let me guess the next: "Corsair launches Hydro H70 CPU Water Cooler" ... talking about hype ...

I've heard a lot of opposite stories saying that Corsair is terrible with customer support.

Anyway. It says no maintenance required in the info for this thing. What does that exactly translate to? No refilling of liquid? No leaks in the tube/s? If it's the best of both worlds, then I might just wait for the H70 to come out so that the H50 will drop in price a little bit then I will press the purchase trigger. Because who knows what Corsair will charge for this new revision.

your a number just like with any other company fortunatly my experinces have been great. theres 90 great sotries for every 20 bad ones. Like i said we are just numbers.

I had an h50 did what it was suppose to do. Went to a fan because there was no difference in noise and the threshold is higher of what i could do and in hot room summer situations. But for those with slight overclocks to med its great. Its also (even concentrated) not exactly anywhere near real water cooling. But its still something different and pretty cool

I am thinking of getting this. would it be too much to expect a 10-15c drop in load temps compared to my Dark knight?

I'm using an H50 right now and it cools about as good as a Xigmatek S1283.

Would it be worth it?

And I just got the H50 a month ago......

Honestly, any charts from a manufacturer trying to hype up their product needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I'd say it'll be a couple degrees better at best but that's enough to top the charts.
