"Acer strives to continually improve on our customers' total mobile experience, whether it is increased responsiveness or extended Internet interactivity through longer battery life," said David Lee, associate vice president of Acer's Mobile Computing Business Unit. "We are pleased to select dual-core Intel Atom processors for Acer netbooks, helping to empower netbook users achieve even more - both at work and at leisure."

"Having shipped about 70 million Intel Atom chips for netbooks since our launch of the category in 2008, there is obviously a great market for these devices around the world."

awesome, good to see some dual core atoms out there now, 4 threads in a netbook should make a real difference for a lot of users.

pair this with something like Nvidia's ION or better and you've got a real winner on your hands IMO.

Released right at the most opportune moment too.

I don't think it will be running circles around C2D CULVs, but this will def make the Atom experience much better. Paired with an Ion like wolf mentioned, and it could be a viable option for those who needed more than the N450/GMA could deliver.

I have an old Acer Aspire One single core. It works great, can play 720p video, etc. The dual core will make a large difference if I want to do some portable programming, but we will see.

Now if they could only get rid of that stupid 2gb of ram limitation we could have a netbook thats more responsive and boots quicker

Intel Atom processors include integrated graphics, video, and memory controllers built right into the die.
Isn't this basically AMD Fusion?
