Hmmm, the usual expensive prices I see.

I think something in between the free and next one up for $5 with customisable res/features would be nice.

So is there PhysX in this? And can it be turned off? Are they going to use a DX11 OCL for physics computation? Is tessellation going to be at multiple levels and selectable?

And will thy actually make a split for real users VS extreme LN pots on everything and it only runs for a hour at a time systems?

It uses Direct Compute and Bullet physics, useable by all DX11 cards.

I'm definitely buying this. I bought vantage, but never bought 06. I hate not being able to save my results online (multiple) and share them online.. wooooo I'm excited. 4.6Ghz suicide runs with CrossFire 6970's will be fun fun fun.

I'm really considering buying this as it should be good to help show improvements from overclocking on the upgrades i plan through 2011.

I cannot think, as an average PC gaming user, for absolutely any reason to pay for this...

I thought that was the GTX580?

Cool wonder if board partners will have them in new gpu boxes too.Like they did with certain cards for vantage.

This benchmark will fail if they do not include Jane Nash. Jane Nash rocked in Vantage!!$#$!!! /sarcasm

They way she ran across that platform, like a handicapped child, swaying side to side like a 1000lbs rhino in gallop mode, the ridiculous poor quality of the textures even in extreme preset settings, the horrible, simply horrible everything else... umm, what I meant to say is: WHY IS FUTUREMARK STILL IN BUSINESS?

I'm happy to see a basic addition, even if its locked at 1280x720, there'll at least be a norm for everyone to compare their dx11 performance, unlike vantage which had a one time use. as for the size of the download i'd expect about 700mb-1gb. i'd think all these new features and powers of dx11 engines would add coding but thats just what makes sense in my mind :D

DigitalUKhave they done away with physx, i never saw vantage as valid due to this.
would think so, DirectX 11 includes DirectCompute ;)
so no need for PhysX non-standard nonsense

i think this 3dmark is going to be one of their bests. The reason vantaged looked shitty for dx10 imo was bc it was simply a tweaked, ported, game engine from 3dmark06. You can tell that shit looks dam identical, things are just a tad sharper, colorful on vantage. This is a new engine so i'm betting its gonna rock n put unigine in 2nd lol

Let the cheating from drivers begin , may the best cheater win , i bet on Nvidia with physx and the bribes to handicap Ati , i mean better support of course :) .
In the old days 3dmark really wowed us , i mean no game came even close to the level of details of 3dmark , now not so much , they strugle to equal the years old engine from crysis wich is a GAME , they finally did it but not so impressive when you will see it crawl on a 5970/GTX580.

Postponed to an unknown date :)

Edit:

Over the weekend we made the difficult decision to postpone the launch of 3DMark 11 by a few days.

Our aim is that 3DMark 11 should provide accurate, reliable and consistent results from the start. With that goal in mind we are taking some extra time now to fix a couple of difficult bugs rather than patching the benchmark immediately after launch.

It might take a day, it might be a week, but either way we'll be in touch again soon to confirm the new launch date and send you your review copy and complimentary press license. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Today we announced that the launch of 3DMark 11 is going to be postponed by a few days.

Our aim is that 3DMark 11 should provide accurate, reliable and consistent results from the start. With that goal in mind we are taking some extra time now to fix a couple of difficult bugs rather than patch the benchmark immediately after launch.

As you pre-ordered 3DMark 11 we understand that this delay is frustrating. To make up for the inconvenience we would like to offer you a complimentary copy of Shattered Horizon, the multiplayer zero gravity FPS game from Futuremark Games Studio.

The code below will let you download the complete game from Steam. For more information please see the game’s store page on Steam:

We will be in touch again soon to confirm the new launch date. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
