Corsair Officially Launches Vengeance High-Performance DDR3 Memory

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the Vengeance series of high performance DDR3 memory modules for enthusiasts and system builders.

Vengeance memory modules use carefully selected RAMs to enable excellent overclocking results on current and future generation Intel and AMD platforms. All initial Vengeance memory modules have a low 1.5V supply voltage for maximum compatibility and for energy-efficient operation. Vengeance DDR3 memory kits are available in single, dual, or triple module kits, with sizes ranging from 4GB all the way up to 16GB. All Vengeance modules are equipped with aluminum heat spreaders for thermal performance as well as aggressive appearance.
"Customers have been asking for outstanding overclocking memory with a lower price tag, and we have been listening," stated Thi La, Vice President of Memory Products at Corsair. "I believe that our users will love both the exciting new look and the overclocking results they are able to achieve with our new Vengeance memory."

The initial Corsair Vengeance family will consist of seven memory kits, as shown in the table below. All module kits are compatible with current and future generation Intel and AMD platforms.

Are they?

With the price dropping so quickly lately I'm really struggling to keep up. For example the price ranges here in the UK from £45 to £110 for a 2x2GB kit (1600MHz). It seems most retailers are stuck trying to get rid of old expensive stock as these newer, cheaper, and faster kits come in.

For example these new Vengeance kits are pre-ordering at Scan - £116 for the CAS8 2x4GB kit whereas the old basic CAS9 XMS3 2x4GB is going for £120.

EDIT: I can't actually find a cheaper 2x4GB 1600MHz kit out there. In that respect, the price looks great to me.

Those are to expensive for "only" 1600Mhz. (In Europe you can add and extra 25%+taxes). I was hopping for some 2400 or even 2600 goodness!!! :)))):nutkick:

Here in the US, a 3x2GB kit starts at 69.99$ shipped and a 3x2GB 1600 cl9 at 85$ shipped

A 3x2GB 1600 cl8 can be found around 90~95$ shipped but most are 99.99$

Therefore, the 3x2GB kit at abouut 50% overpriced to me
