ViewSonic Intros New 27-inch Monitors for Gamers and Professionals

ViewSonic released two new 27-inch PC monitors, the VG2732m-LED and VP2765-LED. Part of the gamer-oriented VG series, the VG2732m-LED has low response time of 3 ms. The VP2765-LED, on the other hand, is fine-tuned for graphics professionals, making use of an Advanced MVA (AMVA) panel, with a response time of 5 ms, and packs 2W stereo speakers. Both displays make use of a slim bezel design, use LED-backlit illumination, full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 300 cd/m² brightness, and 20 million to 1 dynamic contrast ratio. Further, both displays feature 4-port USB 2.0 hubs, display inputs that include DVI, D-Sub, and DisplayPort; and stands that allow 90° pivot, tilt and height adjustments. The VG2732m-LED is priced at US $429. The VP2765-LED goes for $459. Both are expected to be released next week.

Find me a professional user who is after a 27" 1080p (and thus terrible pixel pitch, and not even 1920x1200) monitor where the MVA panel is actually going to make a jot of difference to them, and I'll be very surprised.

Yeah, think my next monitor won't be Viewsonic. They've been good to me but now, they just aren't providing the products I want. When I look at their lines, where they used to have real competitive models, now its like they are purposely making crap to go out of business.

if this is gonna be for gaming it really needs 120hz. we could do without those 2w speakers as well... other than that it looks like a nice monitor, will probably sell more to graphics editing users than gamers... however no mention of how well it produces color. on a side note... when will they start putting usb3 hubs on these things?

Graphics professionals DO NOT DO MVA 27" 1920 x 1080 pixel displays. Talk about Marketing department C+P plagiarism from true professional display manufacturers! ViewSonic marketing department employees should fall on sword.

could be worse, they've been throwing the same marketing BS for TN panels for the past few years. and 120hz is a joke regardless, 60fps with a basic overdrive and a video card capable of maintaining vsync at a minimum FPS is much more important imo. 120hz makes everything look like it was filmed with a soap opera camera.

120hz does not equal frame interpolation.

interpolation? i'm talking about black frame insertion to simulate 120hz scan rate. which to my understanding is essentially the same thing as lcd overdrive. i have yet to see a 120hz or 240hz screen lack the soap opera effect. if i were a professional video editor i certainly wouldn't want to base my reference point on soap opera vision. :) i've heard there are tv's now that don't add any processing and actually produce a 120hz refresh rate, regardless, how will you pass 120fps from a 60hz source, or a 24p source with any interpolation, or have any positive effect for ppl who aren't laymen. it's more imo that it's mainly for bragging rights for the unwashed masses, and 3d processing, another shaky technology barely worth the ink it takes to produce the logo.
