Hackers Banning Innocent Battlefield 3 Players

If online gaming wasn't hard enough a game-hacking site called Artificial Aiming has some members that are now targeting innocent players for Punkbuster bans in Battlefield 3. They were able to do this by corrupting a streaming Punkbuster ban list shared by certain server admins. A junior member from the Artificial Aiming forums that took the lead on this attack is focusing on servers that use GGC-Stream. He is are quoted as saying,

"We have selected ggc-stream as the target since they have the most streaming bf3 servers and makes it very easy to add fake bans. In 2011 we hit them with a mass ban wave and now were are banning real players from battlelog while ggc-stream is totally unaware. We have framed 150+ bf3 players alone"

Not to be outclassed by a junior member of a hacking site, Tony Ray founder of Even Balance, the company behind Punkbuster has made the following statement:

"This was an attack against a 3rd party admin group that uses PunkBuster to share ban information. The group of hackers/cheaters associated with the attack likes to trump up anything they can to claim some kind of victory to avert attention from the fact that we are catching their paid subscribers and banning them while they are claiming their hacks are undetectable. The 3rd party admin group should be able to easily remove the corrupted streaming from their system if they haven't already."

"It is always unfortunate when innocent players have their gameplay interrupted but it should be sorted out soon. In the mean time, there are plenty of game servers unaffected by this attack. Some players may need to branch out and try servers they don't normally play on for a while."

Artificial Aiming has also said they were not responsible for the attack but, they do support it for the "lulz".

catnipkillerjoin. PBhas a bad track record imo bad company 2 was one of the most hacked games iv played.
Ive never had any major problems with hackers on BC2 - Obviously you get the odd aimbot and wallhacker here and there just like every other game. but no less then normal.

Ive seen botters sniping with M60s from more then half way across the map. Ive also seen a guy getting nothing but constant headshots with a Saiga shotgun. and my bullets seemed to bounce off him when i emptied a clip from my smg into him from behind as he jumped over a massive concrete block i was taking cover behind on Oasis map. then he head shot me in mid air.

but other then that. 99% of my games have been hacker free since i got the game when it was first released. Maybe its just your choice of servers

I feel sorry for the players, But this is most likely because of their DRM and hackers are trying to make them stop. Once they stop with their dumb DRM I bet these large attacks will stop.

guys while i dont agree with what they have done you are all missing the point that they are trying to make.

pb and those running it are the problem, this is just another way of showing another flaw in that system and i do mean another as there are many other ways in which you can get banned by pb.

wasnt long back all my mates got banned because of afterburner and 1 of those was never able to overturn that ban even tho he got the same ban for the same reason at the same time.

ea want to help fight hackers? give us a battle recorder.

ea want to make bf3 a better game? give us squad voip.

ea want to make money and dont give a ffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuu what we think or do as long as they get paid, tbh i think this is the last bf game i will buy as they have proved how little they care about us as customers.

Lets just hope karma bites them in the ass when the police kick in there door. Then you will hear about how they "pointed real guns at me". :nutkick:

I get their trying to be dicks about it, not that I agree, but what else do they possibly gain from banning innocent gamer's accounts? EA/DICE, no longer is we are looking into it going to cover it. I heard they reside in California and that is where EA is from so I see no reason EA can't get law enforcement all over them in no time flat.

1. it is annoying as s**t when a hacker shows up in a server, but it hasn't happened to me all that often in BF3. When it does I just hop into another server.

2. I find it humorous that people cheat in a public server. Kind of sad really. If there was some sort of prize maybe it would make more sense (lots of people cheat to win stuff - sports, contests, etc).

3. Thought I'd see what this site was all about, and it's down. Maybe some real h4x0rs pewped on them for all of us legit gamers.

Oh well.

**It's back up... Damn... was really hoping someone shut them down**

Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'elixxx' (for 2 minutes) ... Violation
