Japan-based Green House Co. has today announced a new addition to its flash drive offering, the PicoDrive Secure family of drives with hardware-based AES 256-bit encryption. These drives measure 55 (W) x 23.5 (D) x 8.5 (H) mm, weight just 11 grams, have a USB 2.0 interface, and a capless design (retractable USB connector), and offer protection against autorun malware, and a read-only mode to prevent accidental data loss.

The PicoDrive Secure line will debut in mid-February with 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB models priced at about $85, $157, $226 and $298, respectively.

Read-only mode? Like as in physical write-protect switch maybe? I'd be all over these if they did and were decently priced, which based on those prices above sure as heck are not. I can't find a *decent* priced thumbdrive with a WP switch to save my life. I need 8/16GB ones.

"protection against autorun malware, and a read-only mode" - Is what makes these flash drives awesome!
