Corsair Announces $10,000 Vengeance Cup Online Tournament for League of Legends

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the Vengeance Cup online tournament for League of Legends, with a $10,000 total cash prize purse. Corsair has partnered with Esports Heaven, one of Europe's premier esports tournament websites, to create and run the Vengeance Cup tournaments.

"After the success of the first Vengeance Cup for Call of Duty 4, we are very excited to continue our support for competitive gaming with the launch our second tournament for the hugely popular League of Legends," said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager of the Components Business Unit at Corsair. "Our Vengeance K90 mechanical gaming keyboard and Vengeance M90 laser gaming mouse have quickly become the weapons of choice for fans of PC games, and they are an ideal match for League of Legends."

Registrations for the Vengeance Cup are open now and will close on March 6, 2012, with 256 teams expected to take part when the tournament begins on March 12, 2012. The top three teams will split the $10,000 USD cash purse, with the winning team taking home a $6000 USD prize, with $3000 USD to the second-place finishers, and $1000 USD to the third. Throughout the tournament, coverage will be provided through Esports Heaven's partner sites, such as cadred.org, including live match and score updates, feature content, and more. Matches will also be streamed live by KaosTV, so you can watch the action live, as it unfolds. Vengeance Cup participants and spectators will also have an opportunity to win a variety of Corsair hardware products in competitions to be held throughout the duration of the tournament.

"We're really excited to be bringing another Corsair Vengeance Cup tournament to the community," said Esports Heaven's Steven Leunens. "The success of the Call of Duty 4 tournament last year really showed us the true potential of the Corsair Vengeance Cup, and with Corsair backing another $10,000 tournament we can now make the League of Legends community very happy. This will be a massive tournament that you should not miss!"

Announced in September 2011, Corsair's Vengeance line of PC gaming peripherals features seven products tailored to the unique needs of PC gamers, and includes the Vengeance K90 mechanical gaming keyboard and Vengeance M90 laser gaming mouse, both optimized for MMO, MOBA and RTS gaming; the Vengeance K60 mechanical gaming keyboard and Vengeance M60 laser gaming mouse, tuned for FPS games; the Vengeance 1500 and Vengeance 1300 gaming headsets; and the Vengeance 1100 "behind-the-head" gaming headset.
