AMD Rolls Out Catalyst 12.3 Driver

AMD has now made available this month's WHQL-certified set of Catalyst graphics drivers. The Catalyst 12.3 comes with support for the 28 nm-flavored Radeon HD 7900, HD 7800 and HD 7700 Series, as well as for the Radeon HD 6000, HD 5000, HD 4000, HD 3000 and HD 2000 models.

The Catalyst 12.3 also brings the following fixes:

Windows 7

- AMD Catalyst Control Center startup issues/delays have been resolved
- Elder Scrolls: Skyrim : No longer displays flickering and texture corruption with Anti-Aliasing enabled
- Alan Wake : A system crash is no longer experienced when running the game in DirectX 9 mode with Crossfire enabled.
- Far Cry 2 : A random system hang is no longer experienced when running the game at high in game setting.
- Tom Clancy HAWX : No longer crashes after task switching with MLAA (Morphological Anti-Aliasing) and Anti-Aliasing enabled.
- Furmark Benchmark : No longer crashes when launched in High Performance mode.
- Quake 4 : No longer display corruption after task switching when run in High Performance mode
- XPlane : Textures no longer exhibit flicker and corruption.

Windows Vista

- AMD Catalyst Control Center startup issues/ delays have been resolved
- Enemy Territory Quake Wars : no longer exhibits random corruption

You know it, at which point I just jump on those baby's. I have no problem spending money on these toys, but I expect them to work properly. :toast:

12.2 took down my entire operating system:banghead:.....and back up:banghead::banghead::banghead:.....12.3 is stable so far

Heh ok and no surprises there but it damn well could be much less time that the wait between 7900 and 680. You'll be back in the same boat! :)

So it sometimes goes though with the latest and greatest. Damn TSMC.

My flash playback did go wrong too. Single display on a 4730.
The next day, got a update message to download ver 11.2.202.228 and YouTube functionality went back but kinda different feeling.

now skyrim crashes
Divide OverflowAnti-aliasing works in Skyrim with these new drivers. So far, so good!
didn't work with my 5850.... fixed the pixelation and artifacts but it would hang up and freeze every 30 min or so...... not cool amd... not cool

Check various monitoring programs to see what is happening when you are playing Skyrim. Check vram and CPU voltage and frequencies using GPU-Z. Check system ram usage by using the Windows task manager.

Make sure Windows is up to date via Windows Update and make sure DirectX is up to date here: www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35

You also may want to try doing a thorough reinstall of your drivers. I made a guide here you can check out: www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52502

Then, there's always the possibility that there's a hardware problem somewhere, though that is the least likely of issues.
