Toshiba Upgrades KIRAbook with 4th Generation Intel Processors

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced it has upgraded its premium KIRAbook Ultrabook with 4th generation Intel Core "Haswell" processors, delivering faster performance, better graphics and a longer battery life rating up to nine hours. The updated KIRAbook will maintain its original ultra-high resolution PixelPure display, sleek and lightweight design and resilient AZ91 pressed magnesium alloy build.

"KIRAbook continues to be one of the best ultraportable Windows laptops on the market, complete with an included premium support package," said Carl Pinto, vice president of marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. "Adding more performance and battery life just complements our goal of delivering a premium PC born out of refined design and built for demanding tasks."
Brilliant Display, Best-in-class Design and Superb Performance
KIRAbook's 13.3-inch diagonal ultra-high resolution, factory color-calibrated PixelPure display offers a resolution of 2560x1440 to deliver intensely vivid text and images, making this Ultrabook ideal for viewing photos and movies, playing games and reading documents. This brilliant screen - available in both non-touch and touch options - also lends itself perfectly to the complimentary photo and video editing software - Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 - Toshiba pre-packages on each KIRAbook. To further enhance the movie-watching experience, KIRAbook is also equipped with high-quality Harman Kardon stereo speakers that have undergone further audio processing by DTS to deliver best-in-class sound quality.

KIRAbook was designed to be extremely portable and durable, weighing merely 2.6 pounds and sporting a profile of 0.7 inches, promoting productivity while on-the-go. Knowing that consumers will be transporting this device around, KIRAbook was also built to be extremely durable. Its touchscreen models utilize Corning Concore Glass to offer damage resistance, while the body of all models is comprised of AZ91 magnesium alloy, which is one hundred percent stronger than certain aluminum alloy, and a honeycomb-base, which increases durability and rigidity.

The inclusion of Intel's latest processing technology enables the second-generation KIRAbook to provide consumers with best-in-class performance and up to nine hours from its high-capacity Li-Polymer battery. Additionally, the Ultrabook's 256 GB solid state drive and 8 GB of 1600 MHz memory offer up a fast and responsive experience.

Platinum Service, Support and Protection
KIRAbook comes standard with Toshiba's Platinum Service & Support8, turning owners into Toshiba VIPs. Customers will enjoy premium perks, including a two-year limited warranty, 24x7 phone support, plus access to dedicated U.S.-based agents, rapid repair, set-up assistance, annual tune-ups and more at no additional cost. KIRAbook also features a complimentary two-year subscription to a custom suite of industry-leading security products from Symantec, including Norton Internet Security, Norton Anti-Theft and Norton Online Backup, providing 25 GB of online storage.

Pricing and Availability
The new KIRAbook will be available for purchase in mid-February 2014 at Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Microsoft Store, B&H and Adorama, and direct from Toshiba starting at $1,499.99 MSRP.
