Steam Offers Batman Arkham Knight Refunds After Second Failed PC Launch
Steam announced that it's offering refunds for Batman: Arkham Knight after a second spectacular failure with its PC release. Arkham Knight was pulled from Steam shortly following its late-June launch over the PC version being plagued by crippling and often unplayable bugs. The game was re-launched in October promising improvements to stability.
The October re-launch of Batman Arkham Knight at a reduced $49 price-tag (over the $59 original) met with even stiffer criticism over little or no effort being put into patching its most glaring bugs and performance issues. Steam is now entertaining refund claims for the game up to December 2015. This only covers people who bought the game and 'paid for it' with Steam, and not those who got it as freebies in promotions such as NVIDIA's Arkham Knight key giveaway. Those who bought the game in its PC-DVD (physical media) format are likely also not covered, since the game was sold directly by the publisher, and not Steam, which only serves as a DRM platform.Image Courtesy: VideoGamesBlogger

However blaming this on gameworks strikes me as equally stupid.
BUT This game is not the case of Gameworks, it was a full programming dumpster of a port, very poorly ported by the developers rocksteady hired , but i think they shouldn't be threshed so hard , people that didn't play the game just thrash it so much , even when its actually a great game that got high scores on review , its only problem was the PC port as the game on X1 and PS4 is working fine as far as i know. and its alot better today than it was when it first showed up .
The performance is ok in most parts of the game. The Batmobil still is good for a lot of framedrops.
I was able to play the unpatched Version in 1080p Max Detail (Gameworks on) with 2x 980s. 1x dedicated to physics with 60fps. in 30 hours the game crashed "just" one time... and on another occasion i got the batman infinity fall bug. Thats it.
I agree that the graphics in no way justify the amount of hardware you have to throw at the game. If you are able to play it... PLAY IT.
Yes Warner Bros made a very bad port. But i don't want a refund. I had a great time with it and enjoyed every minute of gameplay.
So the solution of most people in this thread is not to play the game EVER, because they READ the port is bad? No one talks about the actual game anymore.
So how get Warner to fix it? Not to play the game is not an option.
